Installing a Push Certificate
Installing the push certificate you received from the Apple Developer Center allows you communicate privately and
securely with the iOS devices you manage.
You can either upload the distribution certificate file you received, or you can open the file and copy and paste the
certificate contents.
To install a push certificate:
1. Go to Onboard + WorkSpace > Initial Setup > iOS MDM Push Certificate
2. Click iOS Push Certificate Install.
3. Click Create a new CSR.
4. Fill in the New Certificate Request fields. The following additional items in the Advanced Options section define
security options:
l Private Key defines the key size for RSA encryption. Select from:
n 1024-bit RSA (not recommended for a root certificate)
n 2048-bit RSA (recommended for general use)
n 4096-bit RSA (higher security)
n X9.62/SECG curve over a 256-bit prime field
n NIST/SECG curve over a 384-bit prime field
l Digest Algorithm is a cryptographic "hash" method. Select from:
n SHA-1 (recommended)
n SHA-224
n SHA-256
n SHA-384
n SHA-512
5. Click Create Certificate Request.

Downloading a Push Certificate
You can download the contents of the push certificate onto a file on your compuer. Push certificates have a default
extension of .crt.
To download a push certificate:
1. Go to Onboard + WorkSpace > Inital Setup > iOS MDM Push Certificate
2. Click iOS Push Certificate Signing Request.
3. Click Download the current MDM signed CSR.
Depending on your browser and its settings, the certificate file may be saved automatically to a pre-defined folder on
your hard drive, or you may get asked for a location to save the file.
