l If a W-IAP entry for the AP is present in the firmware image cloud server, the W-IAP obtains W-AirWave
server information from the cloud server and downloads configuration from W-AirWave to operate in the
W-IAP mode.
l If there is no response from the cloud server or AirGroup is received, the W-IAP comes up in Instant mode.
l For more information on firmware image cloud server, see Upgrading a W-IAP on page 340.
A mesh point cannot be converted to Remote AP, because mesh access points do not support VPN
connection.
A W-IAP can be converted to a Campus AP and Remote AP only if the controller is running ArubaOS 6.1.4 or
later.

Campus AP or Remote AP conversion.

To convert a W-IAP to a RAP, perform the following steps:
1. Click the Maintenance link in the Instant main window.
2. Click the Convert tab. The Convert tab contents are displayed.
