Usage Guidelines
Channels are categorized into the following types:
l Active Channel: This qualifier indicates that wireless activity (for example, a probe request) is detected on
this channel by the presence of an AP or other 802.11 activity.
l All Regulatory Domain Channels: A valid non-overlapping channel that is in the regulatory domain of at
least one country.
l Rare Channels: Channels that fall into a frequency range outside of the regulatory domain; 2484 MHz
and 4900MHz-4995MHz (J-channels), and 5000-5100Mhz.
l Regulatory Domain Channels: A channel that belongs to the regulatory domain of the country in which
the AP is deployed. The set of channels that belong to this group is a subset of the channels in all-reg-
domain channel group.
