222 | Dynamic DNS Registration Dell Networking W-Series Instant 6.5.1.0-4.3.1.0 | User Guide
Parameter Description
Example
Key Configures a Transaction Signature (TSIG)shared
secret key to secure the dynamic updates.
The following algorithm names are supported:
l hmac-md5 (used by default if algo-name is not
specified)
l hmac-sha1
l hmac-sha256
NOTE: When a key is configured, the update is
successful only if W-IAP and DNS server clocks are in
sync.

Server IP Enter the server IP address of the DNSserver to
which the client updates are sent.
10.17.132.85
Interval Specify the time interval (in secs) at which the
DNSupdates are to be synced to the server. The

Configuring Dynamic DNSUpdates for Clients
You can enable DDNSupdates when creating or editing a DHCP scope for Distributed, L3 clients. When
enabled, the DDNSupdates of the clients are periodically sent during the specified time to the DNSserver that
is configured in the DHCPprofile. If there is no DNSserver configured in the DHCPprofile, the client
DNSupdates will be dropped. The DDNSupdates are secured by using TSIGshared secret keys, when
communicating between the client and the server. For more information, see Configuring Distributed DHCP
Scopes on page 209.
