ThinOS supports the following network combinations on the Wyse 5470 Thin Client:
● Onboard Ethernet port + Ethernet port on the docking station
● Onboard Ethernet port + Wireless
● Ethernet port on the docking station + Wireless
NOTE:
You do not need to reboot the system when you connect or disconnect the Dell WD 19 docking station
for the network to work.
You can connect your thin client to two wired network connections at the same time. The default gateway is determined
by the user interface settings. However, user interface is not changed automatically.
Onboard Ethernet port + Ethernet port on the docking station + Wireless—You can use the combination of these
three network interfaces together. However, the following are the known issues while using this combination:
● You can connect to the network using any two network interfaces and select the network interface that is
not connected as default. The network can be used in this scenario, but the preferred network type cannot be
determined.
For example, you can connect to the network using the two Ethernet ports and select the WLAN option on the user
interface as default without connecting to a wireless network. The network can be used in this scenario, but the
preferred network type cannot be determined.
● You can connect to the network using all three available network interfaces together. The preferred network type
cannot be determined in this scenario.
b. Use Static Name Servers—By default, this check box is not selected, and thin client fetches the server IP address
from DHCP. Select this check box to manually assign static IP addresses.
If name servers are changed using GUI, INI or link down/up, then the details are displayed in Event Logs.
In dynamic mode, the DNS/WINS can be merged from Ethernet 0 and Ethernet 1, if network is not working.
