System preparation tool—Sysprep UI
The System Preparation tool (Sysprep) can now be congured using the inbuilt user interface. Using this tool the data gets cleared from
the system and the system can be customized as per the requirement. The operating system will be like a new installation.
The System Preparation tool Sysprep.exe can be used with other deployment tools to install Microsoft Windows operating systems. The
installation can be completed with minimal intervention by an administrator.
Sysprep.exe calls other executable les during Windows installation. Sysprep.exe is located in the %WINDIR%\system32\sysprep directory.
The le must run from the %WINDIR%\system32\sysprep directory, and the Windows version on which it is installed.
Custom Sysprep
You can use the Custom Sysprep option to pull an operating system image. It uses the Windows Sysprep tool and it helps in the installation
of Dell Wyse applications and settings. The operating system can be congured either according to the requirement of a customer or OEM
specications. Custom Sysprep UI assists you to congure Dell Wyse thin clients. Your inputs on the UI are saved as conguration les
(.xml) and is used for the Custom Sysprep process.
NOTE
: You can use the SCCM option to pull an operating system image through System Center Conguration Manager (SCCM).
It uses the Windows Sysprep tool to pull the image through SCCM. The operating system can be congured either according to
the requirement of a customer or OEM specications. Sysprep UI with SCCM conguration assists you to congure Dell Wyse
thin clients that are required as prerequisites for the operating system capture process through SCCM. Your inputs on the UI are
saved as conguration les (.xml) and is used for the conguration manager Sysprep process.
