Making espresso
Please Note: rst use
Before using the appliance for the rst time, rinse the internal
piping thoroughly, operating it as you would to make coee,
until two tanks of water have emptied, then proceed with
making coee.
Pre-heating the coee machine
1. Turn the appliance on by rotating the selector dial to the
position (the relative indicator light switches on) (g.
4) and attachthe lter-holder with the emptylterto
themachine(g.5).Makesurethatthelterholderis
correctly inserted into the relative seat (g. 6).
2. Place a cup under the lter-holder. Use the same cup
in which the coee is to be served so that it can be pre-
heated.
3. Wait until the OK light comes on (g. 7) then immediately
rotate the selector dial to the position(g.8),allow
the water to run until the OK light switches o , then stop
the water by rotating the selector dial back to the
position(g.4)andemptythecup.
(Itisnormalforasmall,harmlesspuofsteamtobereleased
when the lter-holder is removed).
Making and espresso using ground coee
1. To prepare one coee, ll the lter with a level measuring
spoonofgroundcoee,about7gr.(g.9).Ifyouwishto
prepare two cups of coee, ll the lter with two less-
than-level measuring spoons of ground coee (about
7+7 gr). Fill the lter with small amounts at a time to
prevent the coee spilling out.
Attention:
For correct use, before lling the lter with ground coee
always make sure there is no residual coee in the lter from
the previous infusion.
2. Distribute the groundcoee evenly and press it lightly
using the coee tamper (g. 10).
Pressing the ground coee is very important to obtain a
goodespresso.Ifyoupresstoohard,thecoeecanrun
outslowly.Ifyoupresstoolightly,thecoeecanrunout
too fast.
3. Removeanyexcesscoeefromtherimofthelter-holder
and attach it to the machine: turning it fully home to the
right (g. 5) to prevent water from escaping.
4. Position the cup or cupsunder the lter-holder spouts
(g. 11). It is recommended to warm the cups before
making the coee by running them under hot water.
5. MakesurethattheOKlight(g.7)ison(ifitiso,wait
for it to switch on) and turn the selector dial to the
position(g.8).Oncethedesiredamountofcoeehas
been obtained, interrupt delivery by rotating the selector
dial back to the position(g.7).(Itisrecommended
nottorunthecoeeformorethan45seconds).
6. Turn the lter holder from right to left to release the lter-
holder.
Scalding hazard!
To prevent sprays, do not release the lter-holder while the
machine is dispensing coee.
7. To remove the used coee, lock the lter using the lever in
the grip and let the coee fall out by knocking the over-
turned lter-holder (g. 12).
8. Toturntheapplianceo,rotatetheselectordialtothe“
” position.
Making a cappuccino
1. Prepare the espresso coee as described in the previous
paragraphs, using cups that are large enough
2. Rotatetheselectordialtothe position (g. 13).
3. While waiting for the OK light, ll a container with about
100 grams of milk for every cappuccino to be prepared.
The milk must be at refrigerator temperature (5°C). When
choosing the container consider that the volume of the
milk will increase by 2 or 3 times.
Please Note:
Itisrecommendedtouse semi-skimmedmilkatrefrigerator
temperature.
4. Positionthecontainerwiththemilkunderthecappuccino
nozzle.
5. Wait for the OK light to switch on. This indicates that
the boiler has reached the ideal temperature for steam
production, when reaching the ideal temperature, it is
normal for a small pu of steam and water to be released,
and collected in the drip tray.
6. Extract the cappuccino nozzle by pulling it and rotating it
towardstheleft(g.14):payattentionnottotouchthe
boiler outlet because it is hot. Position the container with
the milk under the cappuccino nozzle.
7. Dipthecappuccinonozzleintothemilkafewmillimeters
(g. 15). Turn the steam dial anti-clockwise (g. 16), for
at least half a turn. Steam escapes from the cappuccino
nozzle giving the milk a creamy appearance and
