6. Insert the  lter in its housing ( g. 39A) and push down as
far as it will go; soft water slightly hard water hard water
very hard water
7. Close the tank with the lid ( g. 39B), then replace the tank
in the appliance;
When you install the  lter, you must notify the appliance of its
presence.
8 . Press the MENU button (B3) to enter the menu;
9. Press the
(B4) or (B5) button repeatedly until
“Install  lter appears on the display (B1);
10. Press the
button (B6);
11. “Enable?” appears on the display;
12. Press the
button to con rm the selection. “HOT
WATER Con rm?” appears on the display;
13 . Position a container under the hot water spout (C6) (min.
capacity: 500ml);
14. Press the button to con rm the selection. The ap-
pliance begins hot water delivery and the message “Please
wait... appears on the display;
15. After the  ow of hot water stops, the appliance automatically
resets to “Ready for co ee” status.
The new  lter is active and indicated by an asterisk displayed
under “Install  lter” in the menu. You can now use the appliance.
17.2 Replacing the  lter
When “REPLACE FILTER” appears on the display (B1), after two
months (see date indicator) or when the appliance has not been
used for 3 weeks, you should replace the  lter (C4):
1. Extract the tank (A10) and exhausted  lter;
2. Take the new  lter out of its packet and proceed as illus-
trated in points 3, 4, 5 and 6 in the previous section;
3. Position a container under the hot water spout (C6) (min.
capacity: 500ml);
4. Press the MENU button (B3) to enter the menu;
5 . Press the (B4) or (B5) button repeatedly until
“Replace  lter” appears on the display (B1);
6 . Press the button (B6);
7 . The message “Con rm?” appears on the display;
8 . Press the button to con rm the selection;
9 . “HOT WATER Con rm?” appears on the display;
10. Press the
button to con rm the selection. The ap-
pliance begins hot water delivery and the message “Please
wait... appears on the display;
11. After the  ow of hot water stops, the appliance automati-
cally resets to “Ready for co ee” status.
The new  lter is now active and you can use the co ee machine.
17.3 Removing the  lter
If you want to use the appliance without the  lter (C4), you
must remove it and notify the appliance of its removal. Proceed
as follows:
1. Extract the tank (A10) and exhausted  lter;
2. Press the MENU button (B3) to enter the menu;
3. Press the (B4) or (B5) button repeatedly until
“Remove  lter *” appears on the display (B1);
4. Press the
button (B6);
5. The message “Con rm?” appears on the display;
6. Press the button to con rm and the MENU button to
exit the menu.
