2. Place a container with a minimum capacity of 100 ml under
the cappuccino maker (g. 3).
3. Plug the appliance into the mains socket and press the
main switch on the side of the appliance (g. 4).
4. Press the
button (A5) (g. 5).
5. The light ashes on the touch screen (g. 6).
6. Turn the steam dial to the “I” position (g. 7). Water is de-
livered from the cappuccino maker.
7. When delivery stops automatically, turn the steam dial
back to the “O” position.
The appliance goes o.
To reuse it, press the
button (A5) again.
Please note :
• The rst time you use the appliance, you need to make 4-5
cups of coee before the appliance starts to give satisfac-
tory results.
TURNING THE APPLIANCE ON
Please note!
• Before turning the appliance on, make sure the main
switch is pressed (g. 4).
• Each time the appliance is turned on, it performs an auto-
matic preheat and rinse cycle which cannot be interrupted.
The appliance is ready for use only after completion of this
cycle.
Danger of burns!
During rinsing, a little hot water comes out of the coee spouts
and is collected in the drip tray underneath. Avoid contact with
splashes of water.
• To turn the appliance on, press the
button (g. 5).
The
light (B3) ashes while the appliance is heating
up and performing an automatic rinse cycle. By circulating
hot water, the appliance heats both the boiler and the in-
ternal circuits.
The appliance is at temperature when the
light goes o and
the coee lights come on.
TURNING THE APPLIANCE OFF
Whenever the coee machine is turned o after being used to
make coee, it performs an automatic rinse cycle.
Danger of burns!
During rinsing, a little hot water ows from the coee spouts.
Avoid contact with splashes of water.
• To turn the appliance o, press the button (g. 5).
• The
light (B3) ashes to indicate the appliance is going
o.
Please note!
If you will not be using the appliance for some time, unplug
from the mains socket:
• rst turn the appliance o by pressing the
button
(g. 5);
• press the main switch on the side of the appliance (g. 4).
Important!
Never press the main switch while the appliance is on.
SETTING WATER HARDNESS
For instructions on setting water hardness, see page 16.
SETTING TEMPERATURE
If you want to modify the temperature of the water used to
make the coee (low, medium, high, maximum), proceed as
follows:
1. With the appliance o (standby), but the main switch
pressed (g. 4);
2. press and hold the icon (B2) until the lights and
icons on the touch screen (B) come on;
3. press the
icon (B13) to select the required
temperature:
low
medium
high
maximum
4. Press the
icon (B12) to conrm (or (B10) to
exit without making the modication). The lights/icons go
o.
The temperature is now programmed.
AUTOOFF
The time can be changed so that the appliance switches o after
being idle for 15 or 30 minutes, or after 1, 2 or 3 hours.
To reprogramme auto-o, proceed as follows:
1. With the appliance o (standby), but the main switch
pressed (g. 4);
2. press and hold the icon (B8) until the lights and
icons on the touch screen (B) come on;
3. press the
icon (B13) to select the required time:
