Prior to Initial Use
1. Remove all parts from the box.
2. Check whether all parts are available and obviously undamaged.
3. Remove the packaging materials and completely unwind the power cable.
4. Verify that the voltage indication on the package corresponds to that of your house-
hold.
5. Clean the beaters and dough hooks before you use them for the first time. Use for that
just warm water and standard commercial washing-up liquid.
6. Place the hand mixer onto a flat surface in a sufficient distance from inflammable
objects.
7. During the first use of the hand mixer, a slight smell may develop. Therefore care for
a sufficient ventilation through opened windows.
Insert beaters / dough hooks
The selection of the insert depends on the food to be processed:
z Beaters are used e.g. for creams, whipping cream, light batters, mashed potatoes or
for mixing pudding powder.
z Dough hooks are used for kneading heavy dough, such as shortcrust pastry.
DANGER
Switch the hand mixer off (level 0). Make sure that the mains plug is not connected
to the socket.
CAUTION
Do not try to insert one beater and one dough hook because this may damage the
device.
