7.4.3. Fault Input
The Fault Input is a purpose-specific input and is intended to be connected to a drive amplifier
or other source for a safety interlock. Using the Fault Input is optional.
When the Fault input is active, the Fault Status bit will turn on and the Fault Error bit
will latch
on. This will cause a halt if the Auto Stops are configured to do so, and the axis is not in the
Direct Output state.
The modules listed below have a Fault Input.

Configuring the Fault Input
The user can select the active state of this input with the Fault Input Polarity parameter.
The parameter has the following two choices:
• Active High - When the voltage applied across the Fault Input is greater than 6 volts,
the Fault input is active.
• Active Low - When the voltage applied across the Fault Input is less than 6 volts, the
Fault input is active.
Wiring
The RMC70 Fault input is compatible with signal levels ranging from 12 V to 24 V. The
RMC70 Fault Input turns on at 6.5 V. The polarity of the voltage is unimportant.
The RMC150 Fault input is compatible with signal levels ranging from 5 V to 24 V. The
Fault Input turns on at 3.2 V.
