Jacking is often the only way for today's timber
fallers to get their job done.
SILVEY developed a ram unit jack because
much of today's timber is harvested before it
gets to "old growth" size. No one likes to pack a
sixty pound set of jacks through the woods, but
beating on a stack of wedges is no picnic either.
A Hi-Jacker is the answer when the brute force
of a pack-style jack is not needed. Its compact
and light-weight design makes it easy to carry,
while its small size makes cutting a seat for it
quick and easy.
Hi-Jacker Benefits
SILVEY ram units are self contained. The
ram, pump, and oil reservoirs are contained in
one unit. Their components are not coupled
together with hoses like a pack style jack. This
means there are no fittings to keep clean or
hoses to maintain.
Without hoses, this all-in-one design allows
ram units to operate at higher internal pres-
sures. This high pressure is the secret to their
super lifting power. As a result, on a pound per
pound comparison, SILVEY ram units are the
most powerful jacks on the market.
The Hi-Jacker replaces SILVEY'S earlier
Feather-Weight jack and represents the newest
self-contained tree jack design. The Hi-Jacker is
an impressive tool. Its lifting capacity is 17 tons
more than the Feather-Weight and it lifts 1/2"
higher.
Application
The Hi-Jacker is our best selling tree jack.
While it doesn't have the brute force of a Tree
Saver, it is ideal for working in today’s smaller
trees. It offers plenty of lift for most second
growth cutting jobs, yet it is light, compact, and
easy to carry.
