DANNER doesn’t make boots with calked soles, so the original
Pronghorn sole tread is ground off by a local boot-maker and
replaced with a second sole containing screw-in spikes. The end
result is a lightweight and waterproof calked boot. These boots are
not as durable and do not offer the support of conventional leather
calks, but they are light-weight and less expensive. Users also
report that they break in quickly and are comfortable right from the
start.
The taller tops also offer more ankle support that the boots above.

LACROSSE CALKED BOOTS begin as hiking boots, but the lug bot-
toms on the original soles are ground off and replaced with a second
sole containing screw-in spikes. They also feature a waterproof
breathable Hyper-Dri liner.

Insulated 'Pac' Style Boots
"PAC" STYLE BOOTS have leather uppers and waterproof rubber
bottoms. Add in felt liners, and the result is lightweight boots that
keep feet warm and dry. The boots have 14” uppers for ankle sup-
port and protection. These full grain leather uppers are triple
stitched where the leather joins the rubber bottoms. The seams are
also glued and sealed.
Fitting advice: These boots are available in full sizes 6 - 14. They
run true to size and are sized with the felt liner in place. If you
wear a size 10 in regular boots, buy a 10. If you wear a 9
1
/2, buy a
10, because there are no half sizes.
