I'_ SETTING UP THE SYSTEM
• Once all connections with other AV components have been completed as described in "CONNECTIONS" (see pages 10 to 17), make the various
settings described below on the monitor screen using the ADV-M51 's on-screen display function.
• Use the following buttens to set up the system:

SYSTEM SETUP button
Press this to display the system setup menu.

CURSOR buttons
|1_ and _l:Use these to move the cursors (1_ and _1) to the left
-----1 and right on the screen.
|Aand¥: Use these to move the cursors (A and ¥)tothe up
and down on the screen.
___ ENTER button
Press this to switch tile display.
Alse use this button to complete the setting.

System setup items and default values (set upon shipment from the factory)

Set the screen size and the speaker system
Input the combination of speakers in your system and
their corresponding sizes (SMALL for legular speakers,
LARGE 1ol furl-size, tuff-range} to automatically set tile
composition of the signals output from the speakers and the
frequency response.
This parameter is for optimizing the timhqg with which the
audio signals are produced from the speakers and subwoofer
according to the listening position.
At the listenitlg position, listen to the test tones output
flom the diffelent speakers and set so that the playback
level from the different speakers is equal

The powel automatically switches to standby if no
operation is perfolmed for 30 minutes while in the stop power does not ruin off automatically
mode with the function set to DVD
Set the LINE-1 and LiNE 2 function names and turn the
analog recording output {REC OUT/on or off.
Set the audio language, subtitle language and disc menu
language for when playing discs.
Set the wallpapel for the setup and operation screens
Set the screen size and video system for the TV being used.

Make the playback lestdction setting for DVDs with
restricted viewing and set the password required for
changing the setting.
Make the closed caption setting for DVDs. (A commercially
