Incomplete connections will result in the generation of noise. • Use the AC OUTLET for audio equipment only. Do not use them for hair driers, etc. • Analog recording of signals input to the AVR-1604 in digital format is not possible.

Mismatching of polarities will result in weak central sound, unclear orientation of the various instruments, and the sense of direction of the stereo being impaired.

One of 7 preset surround modes can be selected according to the program source and the parameters can be adjusted according to the conditions in the listening room to achieve a more realistic, powerful sound.

There are five settings: “small”, “med.s” (medium-small), “medium”, “med.l” (medium-large) and “large”. “small” recreates a small sound field, “large” a large sound field. EFFECT LEVEL: This sets the strength of the surround effect. The level can be set in 15 steps from 1 to 15. Lower the level if the sound seems distorted. DELAY TIME: In the matrix mode only, the delay time can be set within the range of 0 to 110 ms.

The main feature of this format is that because the SL, SR and SB channels are fully independent, the sound can be designed with total freedom and it is possible to achieve a sense that the acoustic images are moving about freely among the background sounds surrounding the listener from 360 degrees.

DEUTSCH 3 Einstellung des Subwoofer-Modus und der Überschneidungsfrequenz Wählen Sie mit Hilfe der (links) und (rechts) Taste die Art des von Ihnen verwendeten Surround-Lautsprechers aus. 3 SURR. 1 (Ursprünglich) LARGE SMALL Wählen Sie den Subwoofer-Modus mit den SMALL NORM HINWEIS: • Wenn Sie für die vorderen Lautsprecher “Small” angewählt haben, kann für den Surround-Lautsprecher nicht “Large” angewählt werden.
DEUTSCH Einstellung der Verzögerungszeit • Geben Sie die Entfernung zwischen Zuhörposition und den verschiedenen Lautsprechern ein, um die Verzögerungszeit für den Surround-Modus einzustellen. Vorbereitungen: Messen Sie die Entfernung zwischen Zuhörposition und den Lautsprechern (L1 bis L5 im rechts dargestellten Diagramm).
DEUTSCH Einstellung des Prüftons • Führen Sie diese Einstellung so aus, daß der Wiedergabepegel zwischen den verschiedenen Kanälen identisch ist. • Hören Sie sich von der Zuhörposition aus den von den Lautsprechern ausgegebenen Testton an und stellen Sie den Pegel entsprechend ein. • Der Pegel kann auch direkt vom Fernbedienungsgerät aus eingestellt werden. Bei der nächsten Eingabe der gleichen Eingangssignale wird der im Speicher abgelegte Surroundmodus automatisch ausgewählt und das Signal wird wiedergegeben.
DEUTSCH 11 FERNBEDIENUNG Vorwahlspeicher Sowohl Komponenten von DENON als auch von anderen Herstellern können betrieben werden, indem der Vorwahlspeicher auf den verwendeten Hersteller eingestellt wird. Mit diesem Fernbedienungsgerät können Komponenten von anderen Herstellern ohne Anwendung der Lernfunktion gesteuert werden. Der Hersteller der Komponente wird einfach wie in der nachfolgenden “Liste von voreingestellten Codes” (Seiten 248~250) aufgeführt, gespeichert.
