Aligning the Print Head
If you notice that vertical lines are not aligned
properly on the nozzle check printout, you may be
able to solve this problem by aligning the print head.
Note:
Make sure the front tray is in the paper position (lower position)
and the CD/DVD tray is not inserted in this product (& page 8).
1. Make sure the product is turned on and not
printing.
2. Load A4-size plain paper (& page 8).
3. Press the F [Setup] button.
4. Use the l or r button to select Maintenance,
then press OK.
5. Use the u or d button to select Head
Alignment, then press OK.
6. Press the x Start button. Four rows of alignment
patterns are printed.
Note:
Do not press the y Stop/Clear button while printing an
alignment pattern.
7. Look at pattern #1 and find the patch that is most
evenly printed, with no noticeable streaks or
lines.
8. Press the r button then use the u or d button to
select the number for that patch.
9. Press OK, then enter the numbers for the other
patterns in the same way.
10. When you are done, press OK and you see a Print
head alignment is complete. message.
Changing the Language
Displayed on the LCD
Screen
You can change the language displayed on the LCD
screen using the following procedure. Certain type of
products may not have this function.
1. Press the F [Setup] button.
2. Use the l or r button to select Maintenance,
then press OK.
3. Use the u or d button to select Language, then
press OK.
4. Use the u or d button to select the language that
you want to display.
5. Press OK.
Setting the Screen Saver
If you set the screen saver, the slide show begins after
the product is inactive for more than three minutes.
1. Press the F [Setup] button.
2. Use the l or r button to select Maintenance,
then press OK.
3. Use the u or d button to select Screen Saver
Settings, then press OK.
4. Use the u or d button to select Memory Card
Data.
5. Press OK.
Restoring Default Settings
If you want to reset the print and copy settings to
their original factory defaults, follow these steps:
1. Press the F [Setup] button.
2. Use the l or r button to select Restore Default
Settings.
3. Press OK.
4. A confirmation message is displayed on the LCD
screen. Then press OK to restore the settings.
