Sony • HT-6500D 5-disc DVD component home theater system
Component home theater in an easy-setup package! Sony has done the hard part for you
by bringing together a powerful home theater receiver, a 5-disc progressive-scan DVD/CD
changer, five voice-matched speakers, and a powered sub. You can experience component-
quality home theater without the hassle of shopping for all the pieces separately.
The receiver features built-in Dolby Digital, DTS, and Pro Logic II decoding,
100 watts x 5 channels of power, and an AM/FM tuner with 30 presets. Plus, there
are enough digital and analog inputs to make this system the center of your audio/video
universe. You can hook up a host of other components — like a cassette deck, VCR, etc.
— with ease. There’s even a 5.1-channel input, perfect for connecting a high-resolution,
multichannel audio source like an SACD player. The 5-disc changer plays DVDs, CDs,
audio CD-Rs and CD-RWs, and MP3 CDs. It offers selectable progressive-scan video
output for DVD, which delivers a sharper, more filmlike picture to HD-ready televisions.
The speaker system includes four compact satellite speakers for the front and rear, and
