A.
1. Relocate the existing main
line
disconnects so as to be accessible upon entering the
elevator machine room. Install new copper wiring and "Ground" from the new discon-
nect panels to each Elevator Control Panel. Elevator Contractor shall be responsible for
designing new elevator equipment to work with existing electrical feeders.
2.
Furnish and install new separate 110 volt lockable disconnects for cab lighting. One per
elevator, located
on
the side
of
the new elevator control panels.
3.
Re-use wiring to the elevator machine room for telephone communication or provide
new as needed. Provide a consolidator so at least three cars/locations can
be
on one
phone line.
4.
The Smoke Detector at the main lobby floor shall be programmed so that when acti-
vated the elevators will go the alternate recall floor. When any
of
the other smoke de-
tectors are activated the elevators shall recall to the main floor. Reconnection
of
the ex-
isting system,
if
possible by the Elevator Contractor.
5.
Install a new Smoke Detector in the elevator machine room. When activated the eleva-
tors will recall to the Main floor and cause a "Fire Jewel" signal to Flash off/on.
6. Provide necessary modifications to the existing fire alann system so that all items in #4
and
#5
above are properly interfaced with the fire life safety system.
7. Contractor to reuse existing grounding
if
acceptable or to run wiring for True Earth
ground from elevator machine room to main building ground
if
necessary.
8. Provide new GFCI protection receptacles and additional lighting
in
the pits and ma-
chine room.
a.
Pits: Install one (1) new 48-inch T8 Double light fixture in each Pit.
b. Machine Room: Install six (6) new 48-inch T8 Double light fixtures in the
elevator machine room.
9. Provide power source and disconnect for new intercom,
if
required.
10.
Provide protective covers on the existing pit and machine room light fixture.
DEMOLITION, CUTTING,
ALTERATIONS
AND
REMOVALS
All demolition, cutting, alterations and removal required to prepare the building to receive the
new work, and any such demolition, cutting, alterations and removal which may be necessary to
complete the work in a first class workmanlike manner, shall
be
perfonned
by
the Elevator
Contractor.
B. All surfaces, such as roofs, walls, windows, floorings, ceiling, etc., which are damaged
or
dis-
turbed due to the perfonnance
of
the work
of
this contract, shall be repaired
by
the Elevator
Contractor in a first-class workmanlike manner to match existing and surrounding areas.
C. All pennanent and temporary bracing and anchoring required for the support
or
transfer
of
any
load while demolition
or
installation work is in progress shall be provided
by
the Elevator Con-
