JETSTREAM’S VISUAL SAFETY SYSTEM.
Ensuring the operator is using the correct equipment is
now identiable from a distance. Jetstream’s Visual
Safety System combines highly visible and color-
matched decals with additional markers to clearly show
waterblast components in use are correctly and safely
suited to current pump pressures.
Jetstream pioneered the visual safety system in 2011
with guns and adapters using a color coding system.
Since this time, the WJTA (WaterJet Technology
Association) now recommends the use of a color
coding for all pressures on highly visible parts. The
color recommendations are:
• YELLOW – 10,000 psi
• GREEN – 15,000 psi
• BLUE – 20,000 psi
• ORANGE – 40,000 psi
In order to align with these recommendations,
Jetstream is now providing color coded guns, foot
guns, hoses, lances and ttings.
Guns and Foot Guns—Guns and foot guns are
available upon request with the color code identier.
Each gun includes the color on the front and rear
barrels, a fully color coated handle and a Visual Safety
System decal placed on the gun body. For the foot gun,
the entire front surface will be color coded, as well as
the back side of the wings. This visually enables the
color identier to be seen from either side of the foot
pedal. (See page F-5 for further gun details.)
Hoses and Lances—Identifying a pressure of a supply
hose and lance will now be easy. Supply hoses with the
abrasion cover spiral will be orange. Beginning in 2015,
all ex lances supplied by Jetstream for 40,000 psi will
be orange from end to end. (See page D-1 for hose and
lance options.)
Fittings—Adapters are now available with an orange
xylan coating. Additional ttings can be color-coded
upon request. (See page E-5 for connector options.)
