Installation Instructions
Start placing the tile at the center point, following the chalk lines. Do not slide tile into place as the tile will
bond instantly. Set it in place at a slight angle to the floor. For ungrouted installation, simply butt each tile
squarely up against each adjoining tile and press firmly. For grouted installation, use at least 2 spacers
between the edges of each tile to maintain a uniform joint width. Then lay each adjoining tile gently
against the spacers. Check your installation often and make any necessary adjustments to ensure that
your grout lines remain a straight and uniform thickness. For best appearance, install each tile with the
arrows on the back of the release paper pointing in the same direction.
6. Install tile over one quarter of the floor at a time, working out from the center in a pyramid (see
illustration #3). Do not install cut tile around the edges of the room until the entire main floor has been
covered.
7. To fit tile around obstacles, make a pattern of the area on paper, trace the pattern onto the tile and cut.
Leave the release paper on the tile and cut with paper side up using scissors or a straight edge and a
knife.
8. Tile may be cut with a linoleum knife or a utility knife. To fit a partial tile, first place a loose tile directly
over the last whole tile (TILE "A") closest to the wall, then butt another tile (TILE "B") against the wall
overlapping the tile to be cut, and draw a line with a pencil to cut (do not cut on floor, as you may cut
through and damage new tiles). (See illustration #4)
Check to see if the fit is acceptable, then remove release paper and set the tile into place.
9. Be sure to install tile under moldings and trim whenever possible.
GROUT APPLICATION
For ungrouted installations you are now finished. Please proceed to the “Use and Care” instructions for
your luxury vinyl floor. For grouted installation, your floor can be grouted immediately. Please note,
however, traditional cement grouts are not recommended. In order to resist cracking, we recommend a
colored premixed grout with high flexibility strength and adhesion. Before beginning, remove all spacers
from between the tiles. The colored grout may then be worked into the grout lines a small section at a
time, as specified per the grout manufacturer's instructions.
