4 Channel Relay Card 1.0 Introduction 1.1 Description The Detcon Four Channel Relay Card provides a low cost means of adding gas detection alarms to a fire alarm panel. The Relay Card is designed to interface up to four analog 4-20mA gas detection sensors and supports three programmable alarm levels for each channel. Any 4-20mA gas sensor can be used with this card. The sensor inputs are continuously monitored by an A/D converter and microcontroller.
4 Channel Relay Card 1.2.4 Reset Switch Input The reset/silence switch uses a 2-pin connector (Detcon p/n 306-175701-900). The reset connector allows for the use of an external, normally-open, momentary push-button switch to reset and/or silence alarms (Figure 1). When the switch is closed, it will reset any latched alarms or silence any Silenceable alarms.
4 Channel Relay Card 2. Connect the sensors to the Relay Card via the three pin connectors labeled CH1, CH2, CH3, and CH4. The connectors provide Power, Power Return, and mA connections for the sensors and are labeled as ‘GND’, ‘PWR’, and ‘mA’. Refer to Figure 1. 3. Connect incoming power to the two pin power connector. (located on the lower left corner of the RELAY CARD.) The input voltage has to be 12 to 28VDC for the Relay Card and the sensors to operate correctly.

4 Channel Relay Card 3.2.1 Silencable or Non Silenceable Alarms 1, 2, and 3 can be configured as Silencable or Non-Silenceable. In order for an alarm to be Silenceable, the corresponding DIP switch must be set to Silenceable, and an external ‘Normally Open, Momentary Closed Switch’ must be connected to the ‘Reset’ connector on the Relay Card.
