DigiShot

Ranger System User Application
There are four methods of operation for the DigiShot
®
Ranger System, as detailed below:
Basic (B) Tagging Option - Users that deploy simple blast patterns.
With the Basic tagging option, the user will only need to concentrate on the Time value, string number and the
sequence number assigned to the detonator. This option is best suited for small, single-primed hole blasts.
It is advised to use only one Tagger per Ranger when the Basic Tagging Option is used. If
more than one Tagger need to be used then both Taggers can start at a different String
number and must have different Tagger ID’s.
Advanced (A) Tagging Option - Users that follow a paper plan.
The Advanced Tagging option is used when there is emphasis on both Time and Location but no ViewShot plan is
available for download.
The Advanced Mode includes more functionality than the BASIC mode as it allows for multi-primed holes
and time incremental settings.
The user will need to define a hole configuration from the “Site Setup” screen in 4G Setup menu.
Planned (P) Tagging Option - Users that follow a ViewShot plan.
With the Planned (P) option, a location and the delay are written into the detonator.
The source for the data is received from a plan which is downloaded into the CE4 Tagger via the ViewShot blast
design software.
DigiShot (D) Tagging Option - Users that deploy the DigiShot method of tagging.
With the DigiShot (D) option, a location of the detonator can be tagged into the detonator. Using the normal DigiShot
tagging method.
The detonators can be assigned locations using Side (L/R), Row (R), Hole number (h), the Detonator number, and
Special numbers can be used. These can later be timed using Tagger to assign delays.
