14.1 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION OF CYLINDER HEAD AND RELATED PARTS

The exhaust valves use a nickel-based alloy and are identiﬁed by a smaller dimple on the

combustion face. The intake valves are an iron based alloy and are identiﬁed from the exhaust

valve by a larger dimple on the combustion face.
