15. Loosen and remove the main bearing cap bolts. Using Main Bearing Cap Puller tool

(J–48884), remove the m ain bearing caps for inspection.

NOTE:

Paint-markthemainbearingcapssothattheycanbeinstalledtotheirrespective,

original positions. The main bea ring caps must be kept in sequence, so that they are

installed to their original positions.

16. Remove the thrust washers from each side of the No. 6 main bearing cap.

17. Remove the crankshaft.
