26.1 DESCRIPTION AND OPERATIONOFTHEOILCOOLANTMODULE

The oil ﬁlter unit is an integral part of the oil coolant module. The oil coolant module is located

on the left side of the engine. The oil ﬁlter unit ensures engine oil ﬁltering.

Engine oil ﬂows through the oil water heat e xchanger and then to the main oil stream feed into the

oil ﬁ lter unit. Oil ﬂows into the oil ﬁlter unit from outside of the oil coolant module through the

oil ﬁlter element to the support dome where it is cleaned. The cleaned engine oil ﬂows to the

support dome and main oil ﬂow drain back i nto the oil circuit.
