MSDS INFORMATION
Power Tools, Pneumatic and Cordless Nailers, Battery Packs, Battery
Chargers, Hand Tools, Laser Levels and other Electronic Products sold by Stanley
Black & Decker under the brands Black & Decker®, Bostitch®, Delta Machinery®,
DeWalt®, Porter-Cable® or Stanley® are considered “Articles,” not “Materials,” as
defined by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Hazard
Communication Standard, and as such are exempted from the requirements to
publish MSDS sheets per the Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1910.1200
(a)(6)(v).
The Code of Federal Regulations 29 CFR 1910.1200 (c) provides the following
definition: “Article means a manufactured item other than a fluid or particle: (i) which is
formed to a specific shape or design during manufacture; (ii) which has end use
function(s) dependent in whole or in part upon its shape or design during end use; and
(iii) which under normal conditions of use does not release more than very small, e.g.,
minute or trace amounts of a hazardous chemical (as determined under paragraph (d) of
this section), and does not pose a physical hazard or health risk to employees.”
As stated above, 29 CFR 1910.1200 (a)(6)(v) exempts “Articles” from the
requirements to publish MSDS sheets.
The following SKUs, however, include packaged lubricants. MSDS sheets can
be provided for those lubricants, if required:
