ENGLISH Safety Instructions for Saws with a Pendulum Blade Guard a) Check lower guard for proper closing before each use. Do not operate the saw if lower guard does not move freely and close instantly. Never clamp or tie the lower guard into the open position. If saw is accidentally dropped, lower guard may be bent. Raise the lower guard with the retracting handle and make sure it moves freely and does not touch the blade or any other part, in all angles and depths of cut.
ENGLISH CAUTION: Burn hazard. To reduce the risk of injury, charge only DEWALT rechargeable battery packs. Other types of batteries may overheat and burst resulting in personal injury and property damage. CAUTION: Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. ENGLISH SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR LITHIUM ION (Li-Ion) • Do not incinerate the battery pack even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. The battery pack can explode in a fire. Toxic fumes and materials are created when lithium ion battery packs are burned. • If battery contents come into contact with the skin, immediately wash the area with mild soap and water. If the battery liquid gets into the eye, rinse water over the open eye for 15 minutes or until irritation ceases.

ENGLISH Your DEWALT charger is double insulated in accordance with EN 60335; therefore no earth wire is required. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a specially prepared cord available through the DEWALT service organization. Mains Plug Replacement (U.K. & Ireland Only) If a new mains plug needs to be fitted: • Safely dispose of the old plug. • Connect the brown lead to the live terminal in the plug. • Connect the blue lead to the neutral terminal.
ENGLISH Shoe Adjustment for 90° Cuts (fig. 1, 5) 3. Check the direction of rotation of the blade. 1. Adjust the saw to 0° bevel. 4. Thread on the blade clamping screw (h) by hand to hold the washer in position. Turn anticlockwise. 2. Retract the blade guard using the lever (f) and place the saw on the blade side. 5. Press the blade lock button (k) while turning the spindle until the blade stops rotating. 3. Loosen the bevel adjustment knob (j). 6.

Instructions for Use • Use the kerf indicator (i) to follow the line drawn on the workpiece. The kerf indicator lines up with the left side of the saw blade when set to 50° bevel. The kerf indicator lines up with the right side of the saw blade when set to 0° bevel. WARNING: • Always observe the safety instructions and applicable regulations.
ENGLISH VISUALLY EXAMINE CARBIDE BLADES BEFORE USE. REPLACE IF DAMAGED. Cleaning WARNING: Blow dirt and dust out of the main housing and the guard area with dry air as often as dirt is seen collecting in and around the air vents. Wear approved eye protection and approved dust mask when performing this procedure. LOWER GUARD The lower guard should always rotate and close freely from a fully open to fully closed position.
