Standard Z94.1 or ANSI Standard Z87.1. Bystanders within 50
feet should also use proper eye protection.
• Fiber cement products contain silica. Inhalation of respirable
silica dust can cause silicosis a potentially disabling lung
disease, and is known to the State of California to cause lung
cancer. The use of a proper ber cement blade by itself does
not ensure safe dust levels. Dust exposures depend on a variety
of factors, including the environment in which cutting takes
place and the amount of cutting performed. Use of the Diablo
PCD HardieBlade™ saw blade in conjunction with a circular
saw outtted with a HEPA vacuum is recommended for high
production jobs; use of the Diablo PCD HardieBlade™ saw blade
in conjunction with a dust-reducing saw (such as a saw designed
to deect dust away from the user’s breathing area) may be used
for lower to moderate production rates. Proper use of respiratory
protection (NIOSH N95 or higher) will further reduce exposures.
Always cut in well-ventilated outdoor areas.
• Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) is a very hard and brittle
material. Slight shocks can damage the PCD. Before each use,
check that the blade is sharp and free from cracks, loose teeth,
missing teeth, broken teeth or any other damage. Do not use if
the blade is dull or any damage is noticed or suspected.
• Always disconnect the power to the machine before installing
or removing blade or making any adjustments or changes to the
machine.
• Never use blade in any saw machine that will exceed maximum
recommended blade RPM indicated on the blade. Be sure that
this saw blade is compatible with your machine.
• Mount blade securely in proper rotation direction indicated on
the face of the blade itself. Be sure that the anges and securing
bolt on the saw are clean and in good condition.
• Set depth of blade slightly deeper than thickness of material to
be cut.
• Read and obey all warnings and instructions contained in
saw machine’s instruction manual as well as the manual for
any accessory used with the machine. If you do not have the
instruction manual, obtain a copy before using the saw blade.
• Never operate a saw machine without proper saw guards and
protections in place and working properly.
• Properly clamp all work pieces before cutting.
• Allow saw to run at full no load speed for a few moments. Keep
out of the blade path at this time and check to see if the blade
is properly balanced. Listen for any unusual noise that could
indicate poorly installed blade.
• Allow saw to reach full speed before cutting, and use a slow
feed rate while cutting.
• NEVER cut curves with this blade; ONLY make straight cuts.
• Keep hands away from blade and cutting area. Never perform
operations freehand.
• Keep body, clothing, and hair clear of spinning blade. Do not
wear jewelry while operating blade.
• Do not re-sharpen this blade. Once it becomes dull, discard
the blade and replace it with a new blade.
• Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling,
and other construction or woodworking activities contains
chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth
defects or other reproductive harm.
