AMI BIOS (c)1996 Setup (586 Systems)
Note: BIOS date is located at the top of the Main Utility page. For 586 systems with AMI BIOS
(c)1996, perform the following for BIOS setup:
Reboot the DACS and enter the BIOS setup routine.
Select “Auto Congure with Optimal Settings”, and choose “Y” for loading high perfor-
mance settings.
Exit and select “Standard CMOS Setup”, then set the following:
Enter correct time and date
Enable the 3.5” floppy drive
Set the following drive parameters:
Primary Master = Auto (for removable drives(
— OR —
Press “Enter” to detect fixed HDD parameters
Repeat procedure for each HDD in the system or select “Not
Installed” in the remaining HDD fields.
Note: If “Dynamic Drive Overlay Error” is displayed after completing the BIOS settings and
starting DOS, return to the Primary Master Setting and press “Enter” to automatically enter the
drive parameters. The operator can also manually enter the drive parameters if they are available.
Exit and select “Advanced CMOS Setup”, then set the following:
Quick Boot = Enable
1st Boot Device = Floppy
2nd Boot Device = IDE0
3rd Boot Device = Disabled (or CD-ROM if installed)
PS/2 Mouse Support = Disable
Use the down arrow key to scroll past “BIOS Cacheable”
CC00, 16k Shadow = Disabled
D000, 16k Shadow = Disabled
Exit and select “Advanced Chipset Setup”, then select the following:
IRQ 12/M Mouse Function = Disabled
Select “PCI/Plug and Play Setup”, and set the following:
Plug and Play Aware O/S = No
IRQ 10 = “ISA/EISA”
IRQ 11 = “ISA/EISA”
Exit and select “Write to CMOS and Exit”
The system will save the conguration and automatically reboot.
Note: If MS DOS is to be installed next, place DOS Disk1 in a: drive.
