Connecting Storage Devices

Introduction
This chapter contains the cabling configurations that must be followed when
connecting storage devices.
Refer to Chapter 7,Installing Disk and Tape Drives, for detailed information on
SCSI configuration guidelines.
SCSI Cable Configurations
The following sections describe the available SCSI cable configurations for your
DIGITAL Server:
Single backplane configuration using an onboard SCSI controller
Split backplane configuration using onboard SCSI controllers
Split backplane configuration using a two channel RAID adapter
In all configurations, an IDE CD-ROM must be connected to the primary IDE
connector on the main logic board.
