Do not use an AC Adapter other than the one provided with your
HiNote VP 500 Series notebook.
To avoid personal injury and/or equipment damage, do not open the
case of the International AC Adapter. There are no customer-
serviceable parts.

Windows Software
Your notebook computer comes supplied with Microsoft Windows operating system,
numerous applications and required device drivers. The first time you turn on your
notebook, the system will begin the installation process. You will be prompted for your
Product ID, which you can find on the Certificate of Authenticity on the front cover of
the Microsoft User’s documentation. After setting up your operating system, insert the
Digital System CD into the CD-ROM and install the desired applications.
Bundled CDs
Your notebook came bundled with two CDs: a Microsoft Operating System CD and a
Digital System CD.
Installing Additional System Software
The Digital System CD provides a variety of software which can be loaded onto your
HiNote VP 500 Series notebook to increase its versatility. Instructions for loading
software from the Digital System CD can be found in Appendix B labeled System
Software and Restoration. This User’s Guide is also available on the Digital System CD
as an Adobe on-line file. Download it to your hard drive so you will always have it to
reference when you need it.
System Restoration
In the event that you purchase a new hard drive or you need to restore the system on and
existing hard drive, you will need both of the CDs which came with your notebook: the
Microsoft Operating System CD and the Digital System CD.
The Microsoft Operating CD provides you with the data needed to re-load your
operating system. The Digital System CD provides applications, drivers and utilities
needed to restore your system to factory issued standards.
Please refer to Appendix B for complete details on what to do in order to restore the
system.
