18.5 Cross Zoning
CautionmustbetakenwhencrosszoningdevicestoensurethattheCrossZoneTimeislongenoughtoallowa
tripofbothzonesbeforeitexpires.ACrossZoneTimethatistooshortmayallowatripofthezonesandonlya
zonefaultreportbesenttotheCentralStation.
WhenaCrossZonedzonetrips,aFAULTreportissenttotheSCS-1RorSCS-VRReceivers.WhentwoCrossZoned
zonestripwithintheCrossZoneTime,bothzonessendALARMsignalstothereceiver.Forexample,ifzones1
and2areCrossZonedzones,andonlyzone1trips,aFAULTreportissenttothereceiverforzone1.Ifzone1
tripsandzone2tripswithintheCrossZoneTime,anALARMreportissenttothereceiverforzone1andzone2.
Note: To operate correctly, all cross-zone zones need to be programmed as the same zone type.

TheCellComSLCZisasecurityenabledZ-Waveproductandisdesignedtobeusedasaprimarycontroller.
TheXFERfeatureallowsanexisting3rdpartynetworktobetransferredintotheCellComSLCZ.
TheCellComSLCZcansupportZ-Waveproductsfromdifferentvendorsandproductcategories.Itis
recommended to use devices listed on the buy.dmp.com site for best performance.
Z-Waveterminology:
• InclusionistheprocessofaddingadevicetotheZ-Wavenetwork.Thenewdeviceis‘included’intothe
Z-Wavenetwork.
• ExclusionistheprocessofremovingadevicefromtheZ-Wavenetwork.Thenewdeviceis‘excluded’from
theZ-Wavenetwork.
• Replicationistheprocessofcopyingnetworkinformationtoanotherdevice(typicallyaZ-Wavecontroller)in
theZ-Wavenetwork.
