1.4 Tamper
ThetamperbuttonispressedwhenthecoveroftheCellComSLSeriesCommunicator
issecuredontotheenclosure.Whenthecoverisremoved,thecommunicatorsends
aTamperTroublemessagetotheCentralStation.
1.5 Reset Button
The Reset button is located on the right side of the circuit board and is used to
resetthecommunicatormicroprocessor.Afterresettingthe
communicator,
begin
programmingwithin30minutes.Ifyouwaitlongerthan30minutes,reset
the
communicator
again.
1.6 Load Button
The
CellComSL
SeriesUniversalAlarmCommunicatorrmwarecanbeupdatedvia
theprogramming(PROG)header.Toupdatethecommunicatorwithanewrmware
version, complete the following steps at the protected premise:
399 Programming Cable
1. ConnectaDMP399CablefromtheProgrammingHeadertotheserialportof
yourPCoperatingRemoteLinkandcontainingthecommunicatorRUle.
2. StartRemoteLinkandcreateoropentheaccountthatmatchesthe
communicator to be updated.
3. SettheConnectionInformationTypetoDirectwithabaudrateof38400and
choosetheappropriateCOMport.
4. SelectPanel>RemoteUpdate,thenselectthecorrectRUleforthecommunicator.
5. PressandholdtheLOADbutton,thenpressandreleasetheRESETbutton.
6. ReleasetheLOADbuttonandclick<Update>inRemoteLink.
7. Afterthermwareupdateiscompleted,removethe399cableandpresstheRESETbuttontoresumenormal
operation.
Model 400 USB Flash Module
1. Removetheyellowandgreenwiresfromkeypadbusterminals8and9.
2. PlaceajumperacrosstheReset(J16)header.
3. PlaceajumperacrosstheLoad(J18)header.
4. ConnecttheUSBashdrivetotheModel400andconnecttheassemblytothepanel’sProgramming(J8)
header.TheLEDontheModel400willashandthendisplaysteadygreen.
5. RemovethejumperfromtheReset(J16)header,pressandreleasetheloadbuttonontheModel400to
initiatethermwareupdate.TheLEDonmodel400willashslowly.IftheLEDdisplaysfastashesitmeans
thermwareupdatewasunsuccessful.
6. Theupdatewilltakeapproximately4.5minutesandwhencompletetheLEDontheModel400willdisplay
steady green.
7. ReplacethejumperacrossReset(J16)thenremovetheUSBashdriveandModel400assembly.
8. RemovethejumperfromtheLoad(J18)header.
9. RemovethejumperfromtheReset(J16)header.
10. Reconnecttheyellowandgreenwirestoterminals8and9.

ThebacklitlogoindicatesthePowerandArmedstatusofthecommunicator.Dependingontheoperation,the
LEDdisplaysinRedorGreenaslistedinthetable.TheLEDindicatesthestatusofthesystembatteryand
primary power.
