Using Bookmarks
DW Spectrum provides Bookmarks a way to mark specific parts of the archive to simplify further search. Bookmark
belongs to a specific Camera and has the following parameters:
 Start time in the archive
 End time in the archive
 Name
 Description
 Tags.
Bookmarks can be created manually or automatically. The following sections describe how to create Bookmarks
manually:
 Creating and Setting Up Bookmarks
 Search using Bookmarks
 Deleting Bookmarks.
Also Bookmarks can be created automatically when various Events occur. See "Create Bookmark" for details.
Creating and Setting Up Bookmarks
Bookmarks can be created manually or automatically when various Events occur. See "Create Bookmark" action for
details.
To create Bookmark manually:
1. Open a desired Camera that has recorded footage.
2. Select the region to bookmark on Time Scale:
 Use Right Click Drag
 Open Context Menu on Time Scale and click Mark Selection Start (or press “[”), then Mark Selection End (or
press “]”)
 To clear selection, use the corresponding Context Menu item
 Adjust the selected region by dragging edges
 To make zooming easier, zoom Time Line using Mouse Wheel (or use Context Menu and click Zoom to Selection)
3. Invoke Context Menu and choose Create Bookmark...
4. Enter Name, Description ans assign Tags. It is possible to use pre-defined tags or create new ones (most commonly
used tags will be suggested) and click OK. It will be possible to perform search by all these fields. See "Search using
Bookmarks".
After Bookmark is created it is visible on Time Scale and colored in Blue. If point mouse cursor over it, additional
dialog will pop up:
