WARNING: Read all instructions and warnings carefully before starting installation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in a possible electric shock, fire hazard and will void the warranty. Ensure the electrical supply voltage is the same as that shown on the rating plate of the heater. Please record your model and serial numbers for future reference.

Installation Safety Information RISK OF FIRE/EXPLOSION • This heater should not be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. • Do not use in areas where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored. • Installation minimum clearances specified on the heater nameplate and in the owner's manual must be followed. • The heater must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions. 1. Before installation, read this manual carefully and keep for future reference. 2.
Installation Heater Location The DIRP electric heater produces radiant heat, which heats objects and people rather than the air. The DIRP heater must be installed in such a way that objects and people are within the direct path of the heater. It is recommended that the DIRP heater be installed indoors or in outdoor spaces where there are 1, 2, 3, or 4 enclosed sides.
Installation Mounting WARNING • The heater must be installed on a vertical wall. The heater is equipped with a tilt switch, which will prevent the heater from operating if it is installed on a sloped wall. The heater must only be operated in a horizontal position with a maximum 2° slope. • Never install the appliance on a combustible surface (plastics, nylon, carton, etc.) • The installation structure and hardware must be able to hold 5 times the weight of the heater.
Installation 4. Install the mounting bracket on the wall using the 3 provided screws. For concrete wall installations, use the provided screws in conjunction with the provided concrete anchors (Figure 4). For installations on other wall materials such as drywall (without studs) or brick ensure suitable mounting hardware is used. 5. Position the heater on the bracket at the desired angle. The heater can be wall-mounted at a 35° or 45° angle directed toward the ground (Figure 5).
Operation WARNING • Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or people with disabilities and whenever the heater is left operating unattended. • This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided. • DO NOT USE the heater on the table or on the ground.
Operation General Operation ! NOTE: The distance between the heater and the remote control should be less than 10 feet (3 m), and the remote control must be pointed directly toward the heater. 1. Connect the heater to a 120 V power outlet. Set the power switch to the I position to put the heater in standby mode. The display will show a flashing —— to indicate that the unit is in standby mode. 2. Point the remote control toward the heater and press the On button.
Maintenance Remote Control Battery Replacement 1. Slide the battery cover open on the remote control. 2. Install 2 AAA batteries in the battery compartment. 3. Close the battery cover. Battery must be recycled or disposed of properly. Check with your Local Authority or Retailer for recycling advice in your area. Troubleshooting ARNING: There are no user serviceable parts inside the heater. Any servicing other than cleaning of W the heater should be performed by an authorized service representative. Troubleshooting prior to calling a service technician: RECOMMENDED ACTION SYMPTOM Unit does not turn on. Check electrical plug connection at wall outlet. Ensure the unit is installed correctly. Ensure the unit is installed on a vertical wall. Ensure the unit power switch is in the on ( I ) position.

Installation Précautions de sécurité RISQUE D'INCENDIE / D'EXPLOSION • Cet appareil de chauffage ne doit pas être utilisé dans des atmosphères potentiellement explosives. • Ne pas utiliser dans les zones où de l'essence, de la peinture ou des liquides inflammables sont utilisés ou entreposés. • Les dégagements minimums d'installation indiqués sur la plaque signalétique du radiateur et dans le manuel d'utilisation doivent être respectés.
Installation Emplacement Le radiateur électrique DIRP produit de la chaleur rayonnante, qui chauffe les objets et les personnes plutôt que l'air. Le radiateur DIRP doit être installé de manière à ce que des objets et des personnes se trouvent dans le trajet direct du radiateur. Utilisation AVERTISSEMENT • Une extrême prudence est nécessaire lorsqu'un appareil de chauffage est utilisé par ou à proximité d'enfants ou de personnes handicapées et chaque fois que l'appareil de chauffage est laissé en fonctionnement sans surveillance. • Cet appareil de chauffage n'est pas équipé d'un dispositif de contrôle de la température ambiante.
Utilisation Mode d'emploi général !
