grammed for passive mode, it will automatically activate the Failsafe® Starter Kill relay 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off. Passive mode is indicated by rapid flashing of the LED after the ignition is turned off. NOTE: For passive mode to be effective, the Failsafe® Starter Kill relay must be installed. If passive mode is programmed on, it is also possible to program the system to lock the doors automatically. This is called passive locking.
This feature allows you to override the Starter Kill without the transmitter should it be lost, damaged or disabled. To do this, you must have the vehicle's ignition key and know where the Valet® switch is located. Check with the installer for the location of the Valet® switch. Turn the ignition to the "run" position. Press and release the Valet® switch, within 10 seconds. The LED will stop DRW-35 flashing and the vehicle should start. If it does not, you may have waited too long.
To enter or exit Valet® Mode with the Valet switch: Turn the ignition on and then off. Press and release the Valet switch within 10 seconds. The status LED will light steady if you have entered Valet Mode. To exit Valet Mode, repeat the steps above. The LED will turn off when exiting Valet Mode. If you are threatened in or near your vehicle, you can attract attention by triggering the system with your transmitter! Just press and you will enter Panic Mode.

The following is a list of program settings, with the factory settings in Bold: ■ Passive mode or active mode. In passive mode the Failsafe Starter Kill relay will be automatically activated 30 seconds after the ignition key is turned off.
Owner Recognition Owner Recognition is a feature available exclusively from DEI®. Using a DEI® Bitwriter hand-held programming tool, your dealer can program many of the system settings. The programmer makes it possible to program different settings for each transmitter that is used with the system. Then, whenever a specific transmitter is used, the system will recall the settings assigned to that transmitter.
Valet® Start System: For the ultimate in convenience, the Valet® Start System can start your vehicle, monitor engine functions, and power your climate control system with a push of a button! Overrev protection, open-hood lockout, brake-pedal shutoff, and automatic timer shutoff are all included. This option is available only for automatic-transmission, fuel-injected gasoline vehicles. Power Window Control: Power window control is provided with the 529T or 530T systems.
