You can determine the density of solid, liquid and powdery samples according
to one of two methods:
– Buoyancy method
– Specific gravity bottle method
The Achimedean principle is applied to determine the volume of a particular
sample; this volume is necessary for calculating the density.
Methods
Buoyancy Method To measure the density inside the weighing chamber
(toploading configuration), use the YDK 01 (-0D).
Specific Gravity
Bottle Method The method using a specific gravity bottle is suitable
for determining the density (specific gravity) of pasty and
powdery samples.
