System 1 Installation and Configuration
System 1 with the Ranger Pro plugin is used to configure, collect and analyse dynamic data acquired by
VP Series 2000 devices connected to either ISA100 or WirelessHART industrial wireless networks.
Contact Bently Nevada for additional information regarding the purchase, use and support of System 1.
Before adding VP Series 2000 devices to a System 1 installation, ensure that that you are using the
following software versions:
• System 1 version 19.2 or later with appropriate service packs and hotfixes installed.
• System 1 Ranger Pro plugin build 301xx or later
System 1 and the System 1 Ranger Pro plugin are compatible with the following devices:
• VP Series 2000 ISA100 devices with firmware v2.1.2.2 or 3.x.x.x or later.
• VP Series 2000 WirelessHART devices with firmware version 3.x.x.x or later.
New System 1 Installations
Install System 1 and the Ranger Pro plugin before adding VP Series 2000 devices as follows:
1. Install System 1 version 19.1 or later and appropriate hotfix and/or service packs.
2. Install System 1 Ranger Pro plugin build 301XX or later.
3. Add an appropriate wireless gateway to the System 1 configuration.
4. Add provisioned devices to the System 1 configuration.
5. Configure System 1 data collection and analysis.
Existing System 1 Installations
If needed, upgrade or update System 1 and install or update the Ranger Pro plugin as follows:
1. Disable System 1 online data collection.
2. Close the System 1 enterprise.
3. Exit System.
4. If upgrading System 1, run the System 1 setup and any relevant hotfix or service pack installations.
5. Uninstall the System 1 Ranger Pro plugin (Ranger Pro - core).
6. Install the updated System 1 Ranger Pro plugin build 301XX or later.
7. Start System 1.
8. Open System 1 enterprise and enable online data collection.
9. After several minutes, a configuration out of date may be enter. Synchronise and save.
10. Add an appropriate wireless gateway to the System 1 configuration.
11. Add provisioned devices to the System 1 configuration.
12. Configure System 1 data collection and analysis.
We recommend making a backup of your System 1 configuration before upgrading or updating System 1
or the Ranger Pro plugin.
