Handling precautions ◆ General ・ F-02F is waterproof/dustproof, however, do not allow water or dust to seep into the terminal or do not adhere water or dust to accessories or optional devices. - Adapter, desktop holder, USB coaxial conversion cable and docomo mini UIM card are not waterproof/dustproof. Do not use in a bathroom or other highly humid area or do not let rain touch.

Cautions on using 5 GHz devices Using wireless LAN built-into the terminal in 5.2/5.3 GHz outside is prohibited by the Radio Law. Channel numbers and frequency bands available in Japan are as follows. ・ 5.2 GHz band : 5,180 to 5,240 MHz (36, 38, 40, 42*, 44, 46, 48 Ch) ・ 5.3 GHz band : 5,260 to 5,320 MHz (52, 54, 56, 58*, 60, 62, 64 Ch) ・ 5.6 GHz band : 5,500 to 5,700 MHz (100, 102, 104, 106*, 108, 110, 112, 116, 118, 120, 122*, 124, 126, 128, 132, 134, 136, 140 Ch) * It is compatible with IEEE802.
❖ What you can do with waterproofness of Waterproofness/Dustproofness F-02F provides waterproofness of IPX5*1, IPX8*2 and dustproofness of IP5X*3 with the jack and slot cap firmly closed. *1 IPX5 means that a communication device keeps functioning after applying a jet flow of 12.5 L/min. from every direction from a distance of approximately 3 m for at least 3 minutes using water nozzle in 6.3 mm inner diameter.
◆ To ensure waterproofness/dustproofness To avoid water/dust ingress, be sure to observe the following. ・ Do not put on or soak the terminal in liquid other than tap water in room-temperature. ・ For attaching/removing docomo mini UIM card or microSD card, put your fingertip into the groove on the slot cap to raise the cap (a), then open in the direction of the arrow (b). a Tab Tab ・ Close the jack cap and slot cap firmly. d Make sure that the back side of the terminal is facing up, then insert the tray straight into the docomo mini UIM card slot ✔INFORMATION ・ When handling docomo mini UIM card, take care not to touch or scratch the IC. Note that inserting or removing docomo mini UIM card forcibly into or from the terminal may damage docomo mini UIM card. ・ For removing/inserting the tray from/into the docomo mini UIM card slot, do not remove or insert forcibly. Doing so may damage the tray.
❖ Internal battery life ・ The following conditions will lead to a charging error and ・ ・ ・ ・ the indicator LED turns off. Charging restarts when the charging becomes possible. - When the power voltage of the charger becomes out of chargeable range - When temperature of the internal battery or the terminal* becomes out of chargeable range * When the terminal gets hot, wait until it cools down and then retry charging.
◆ Charging with desktop holder Charge the battery using included Desktop Holder F43 and AC Adapter F07 as follows.
◆ Charging with AC adapter Jack cap Indicator LED To charge with an optional AC Adapter 04, operate as follows. a Open the jack cap on the terminal→P23 b Insert the microUSB plug of the AC adapter into the external connection jack of the terminal horizontally with B-engraved side facing up c Insert the AC adapter's power plug into an outlet ・ Indicator LED lights in red while charging, and turns off when charging is complete.
Turning power on/off Basic operation ◆ Turning power on ◆ Using touch panel Press and hold P (2 sec. or more) until the 1 indicator LED lights in green Touch the touch panel directly to operate the terminal. ・ Set whether to vibrate when tapping is recognized (Distinct touch →P115). ❖ Tap/Double-tap Tap : Touch the screen lightly and release the finger quickly. Double-tap : Tap twice quickly. Example : Drag ❖ Pinch Example : Tap Touch the screen with two fingers and widen (pinch-out) or narrow (pinch-in) the fingers distance. ❖ Touch and hold Touch the screen for a while. Some operations can be operated by keeping touching the screen with a finger. ❖ Drag/Slide (Swipe)/Pan Drag : Touch an item or icon on the screen and move it to the desired position.
◆ Switching the portrait/landscape view Character entry The terminal supports a motion sensor that senses orientation or motion of the terminal. You can switch display view by tilting the terminal vertical or horizontal (Auto-rotate screen→ P117). ・ Even when you change the orientation of the terminal, the screen may not change depending on the screen displayed. ・ The screen orientation can be locked according to the direction you look at when you change your posture with holding the terminal etc.

Touch screen lock Set the screen not to react by touch operation. You can use it as child-lock which prevents from erroneous operation by children. Gmail Early warning "Area Mail" Gmail is a Google online email service. You can send and receive emails using Gmail on the terminal. ・ To use Gmail, you need to set up a Google account on the terminal. If a Google account is not yet set, follow the onscreen instructions that are displayed when Gmail is activated for the first time. This is a service with which you can receive emergency earthquake flash report delivered by the Meteorological Agency etc.
