Opening Latitude
1 From the Maps screen, m →
"Latitude".
• Latitude opens and a list of members
with Google accounts appears.

Inviting friends to share their
locations
When you join Latitude, you can share your
location with friends. Your location
information can only be viewed by friends that
you have invited or friends that have invited
you.
1 From the Latitude screen,
m → "Add friends".
• The "Add friends" menu appears.
2 Tap one of the items.
• If you tap "Select from Contacts", a list
of all your contacts appears.
• If you tap "Add via email address", you
can enter the email address of the
friend that you want to invite. You can
enter multiple email addresses by using
a comma as a separator.
3 "Add friends"
• After adding friends, a dialog box opens
to ask you if you want to send a
sharing request.
4 Check that the checkbox of
each friend to whom you
want to send the request is
marked, and tap "Yes".
• If you do not want to send the request
to a marked friend, tap the friend to
unmark him/her.
• If your friends already use Latitude,
they receive an email request and a
notification on their Latitude screens. If
they have not yet joined Latitude, they
receive a Gmail request to join Latitude
through their Google account.

Responding to an invitation
When a friend invites you to share your
location on Latitude, you can respond in the
following ways.

Viewing your friend's locations
You can view your friend's locations on a map
or on a list. When you open Maps, your
friend's locations are shown. Each friend is
represented by their photo, with an arrow
pointing to their approximate location. If a
friend has chosen to share city-level
locations, the picture does not have an arrow
and appears in the middle of the city.
When you tap your friend's photo, your
friend's name appears in a balloon. Tap the
balloon to open a screen that displays
Accept
and share
back
You and your friend can see
each other's locations.
Accept,
but hide
my
location
You can see your friend's
location, but he/she can't see
your location.
Don't
accept
No location information is
shared between you and your
friend.
