Cleaning the ue and burner
Inspect the ue bafe. It should be reasonably clean and free
of soot. Heavy soot formation indicates improper functioning
of the burner.
To clean the ue and burner, follow these steps:
Unplug the refrigerator power cord from the 120V
AC outlet.
Disconnect/shut off the 12V DC power to the refrig-
erator.
Turn the manual shutoff valve to OFF.
In turn, remove the:
- Cover from the burner housing.
- Burner mounting screw and burner assembly.
- Wire and ue bafe from the top of ue tube.
Using a ue brush, clean the ue from the top.
Blowing compressed air into the ue will not prop-
erly clean soot and scale out of the ue tube.
Replace the ue bafe.
Clean the burner tube with a brush. Blow out the
burner with compressed air.
Before removing the burner jet:
Clean burner area of soot and scale that fell out of
ue tube.
Remove the burner jet.
Soak the jet in wood alcohol and blow it out with
compressed air.
Reinstall and tighten the burner jet.

Carefully reinstall the burner. Make sure the end of
the burner ts into the slot on the burner bracket,
that the slots are centered under the ue tube and
that the thermocouple is positioned properly (tip of
thermocouple extends over two slots of the burner).
Check the burner ame for proper appearance. The
ame should be light blue. If it has a yellow tip, it
means that it is burning incorrectly.
Check the electrode for proper location and gap.
Turn on the manual gas shutoff valve. Check all
ttings for leaks with soapy water.
Connect the 120V power cord to the outlet.
Reconnect/turn on the 12V DC power.
Check the LP gas safety shutoff.
