1.0 INTRODUCTION You have made an excellent choice in selecting the Dometic Absorption Refrigerator. We are sure that you will be fully satisfied with your new appliance in all respects. The appliance, which works silently, meets high quality standards and guarantees the efficient utilisation of resources and energy throughout its entire life cycle, during manufacture, in use and when being disposed of.
2.2 Coolant Ammonia is used as a coolant. This is a natural compound also used in household cleaning agents (1 litre of Salmiak cleaner contains up to 200g of ammonia - about twice as much as is used in the refrigerator). Sodium chromate is used for corrosion protection (1.8% of the solvent). In the event of leakage (easily identifiable from the unpleasant odour): Switch off the appliance. Air the room thoroughly. Inform the authorised Customer Service department. 3.
5.2 Using the refrigerator 5.2.1 The cooling unit is silent in operation. When the appliance is first put into operation, there may be a mild odour which will disappear after a few hours. Ensure the living area is well ventilated. The refrigerator will take several hours to reach its operating temperature in the cooling compartment The freezer compartment should be cold about one hour after switching on the refrigerator.
5.2.2 Electrical operation 1. 12V - operation (DC) CAUTION The refrigerator should only be used while the motor is running, otherwise the on-board-battery would be discharged within a few hours! B A C 1. Set energy selector switch (A) to 12V . Operating display “C”, 12V lights “green”. Appliance is in function. 2. Use rotary switch (B) to regulate the temperature in the main refrigerator compartment. If the operating display fails to light up the device is not in operation. (For troubleshooting see 5.
5.2.3 Gas operation The refrigerator should only be operated using liquid gas (Propane, Butane). Do not use Autogas, town gas or natural gas. If the refrigerator is operated during travel using gas, the precautions stipulated by the legislation in the respective country must be taken (in conformity with the European standard EN 732). Due to physical reasons, ignition faults could occur starting from an altitude above sea level of approx. 1000 m /3280 ft.
5.2.5 Temperature setting cooling compartment B As shown, you are able to regulate the temperature of the cooling compartment, if necessary, by turning rotary knob (B) . medium setting TIP The cooling unit’s performance is influenced by ambient temperatures. Please select the medium setting for ambient temperatures between +15°C and +25°C. The unit operates within its optimum performance range. DOMETIC refrigerators work according to the absorption principle.
5.4 Making ice cubes Ice cubes are best frozen overnight. At night, the refrigerator has less work to do and the unit has more reserves. 1. Fill the ice cube tray with drinking water. 2. Place the ice cube tray in the freezer compartment. WARNING 5.5 Only use drinking water! Defrosting As time goes by, frost builds up on the fins. When the layer of frost is about 3mm thick, the refrigerator should be defrosted. 1. Switch off the refrigerator, as described in Section 5.8 - "Switching off". 2.
5.7 Door locking open CAUTION 5.8 close Always shut and lock the refrigerator before you start your journey! Switching off A park position 1. Set energy selector switch (A) to position "0" (OFF). The appliance is now fully switched off. 2. Secure the door open by means of the door stop. The door will be slightly ajar. This is to prevent mould from forming inside the appliance.
5.10 Interior light Changing the light bulbs 1. 2. 1. Remove cover. 90° 2. Detach defective light bulb. 3. Fit new light bulb Note: For 12V DC : 1 light bulb 12V, 2W Please contact Dometic Service Centres for replacement light bulbs. 4. Clip the cover back in place. 5.11 Changing the decor panel 2. Take off the door by moving it upwards. 1. Open the door and loosen the hinge screw. 4. Remove the decor plate and insert a new decor plate. 5. Screw the door strip back in position.
5.12 Changing the doorhang It is not always possible to change the door when the refrigerator is installed. 1. Open the door, unscrew the hinge screw and keep it to hand. 6. Screw the hinge screw back in. 2. Take off the door by moving it upwards. 5. Attach the door. 3. 5.12.1 4. Adjustment of door hinges In order to enable the proper locking of the door, it might be necessary to adjust the door hinges. For this reason, the fridge is equipped with an adjustable door hinge screw.
5.13 Troubleshooting Before calling the authorised Service Department, please check whether: 1. The instructions in the section "Using the refrigerator" have been followed. 2. The refrigerator is not tilted excessiveley. 3. It is possible to operate the refrigerator with an available power source. Failure : The refrigerator does not work in gas operation mode. 5.14 Maintenance Works on gas components and electrical installation may only be carried out by authorised personnel. We recommend to contact your Dometic Service Centre. It is recommended that the gas burner be inspected and cleaned as necessary at least once a year to keep the refrigerator operating efficiently and safely. We recommend maintenance following an extended shutdown of the vehicle.

6.1.1 Side installation If the appliance is installed on the same side of the vehicle as the entrance door, it is desirable that the door does not cover the refrigerator’s vents. If this cannot be avoided there must be a gap of at least 25mm between the door and the vents. FIG. 1 Air vent grille blocked. Distance between door and vent grilles : min 25mm ! 6.1.
6.1.3 Rear installation Rear installation often causes an unfavourable installation arrangement, as ideal ventilation cannot always be assured (e.g. the lower ventilation grille is covered by the bumper or the rear lights of the vehicle!) (Fig. 4). The maximum cooling performance of the aggregate is actually not available. Another variant of the rear installation is the side installation of the ventilation grilles (fig. 5).
6.2 Draught-free installation The refrigerator must be sealed in such a way, that no air from the living area can get to the gas burner and no draughts counter enter the living aera as well. WARNING! DO NOT use any easily inflammable materials (in particular silicone sealing agent or similar) for sealing! The device manufacturer's product liability and guarantee shall lapse if such materials are used. Proposal 1: (Illustrated below are two typical approved methods of sealing.
In this case, for gas operation, do not use the upper winter covering! If even with draught-free installation a fume chimney is desirable, you must incorporte the L100 ventilation and extraction system into the upper air vent opening. Installation of fume chimney: please refer to point “6.7”. Deviations shall require the consent of the manufacturer. 6.
6.4 Installing the ventilation system L 200 L 100 To install the ventilation grilles, cut two rectangles (451mm x 156mm) [17-3/4” x 6-3/20”] in the outer wall of the vehicle (for position of the cuts, see point “6.3”). Item 1 does not apply for installation framess with an integrated seal. 1. Seal the mounting frame, making it waterproof. 2. Insert the frame ... ... and screw into position. 3. Insert the ventilation grilles. 4. Lock the ventilation grilles. 5.
6.5 Installation recess The refrigerator must be installed draught-free in a recess (see point “6.2”). The measurements of the recess are given in the table below. Step (A) is only required for cabinets with a step. Push the appliance far enough into the recess until the front edge of the refrigerator casing is flush with the front of the recess. Allow a gap of 15-20mm [approx. 3/4”] between the back wall of the recess and the refrigeration unit.
6.7 Fume extraction Fume extraction must be arranged in such a way as to provide complete extraction of all products of combustion to an area outside the living area. The flue system must slope in an upward direction in order to avoid a build-up of condensation. CAUTION 6.7.1 An installation that is not carried out by qualified persons causes a reduction in the cooling capacity and will jeopardize the manufacturer's guarantee. Fitting the fume flue in the upper ventilation grille min. 10 mm max.

Cut an 80mm x 40mm [ 3-3/20” x 1-6/10”] rectangle in the outer wall of the caravan. The position of the cut must be appropriate to the particular model of refrigerator and installation conditions. 2. Connect T-piece (E) to adaptor (F) or flue pipe (K) as required and affix with screw (G). Ensure that heat baffle (H) is lodged in the correct position.
Hook-up to the gas supply line is accomplished at the manual gas shutoff valve, which is furnished with a 3/8" SAE (UNF 5/8" - 18) male flare connection. Always use a backup wrench when connecting the gas supply line to the gas inlet fitting. WARNING Gas connection may only be carried out by a qualified personnel. Following proper installation, a testing for leakage and a flame test must be carried out by *qualified personnel. A certificate of testing must be issued.
6.9 Electrical installation WARNING Electrical installation may only be carried out by qualified personnel. The connection cables must be laid in such a way that they do not come in contact with hot components of the unit/burner or with sharp edges. The electrical installation must comply with national regulations. It is advisable to run the incoming supply through an on-board fuse or automatic circuit breaker.

1.0 AVANT- PROPOS Permettez-nous de profiter de cette occasion pour vous remercier d'avoir acheté ce réfrigérateur à absorption Dometic. Nous sommes persuadés que votre nouvel appareil vous donnera entière satisfaction. Cet appareil, silencieux en fonctionnement, satisfait aux exigences de qualité et garantit une utilisation optimale pendant toute sa durée de vie (fabrication, utilisation et mise au rebut).
2.2 Produit réfrigérant Dans ce cas, il s'agit d'ammoniaque, un composé naturel, également contenu dans les nettoyants ménagers (1 litre de nettoyant au sel ammoniac contient jusqu'à 200 g d'ammoniaque, c'est-à-dire environ deux fois plus que le réfrigérateur). Le chromate de sodium est un agent anti-corrosion (dosé 1,8% du dissolvant). En cas de fuite (facilement décelable en raison de la mauvaise odeur): débrancher l'appareil; bien aérer la pièce; en informer le service après-vente. 3.
5.2 Mise en marche du réfrigérateur L’aggrégat est silencieux. Lors de la première mise en service de l'appareil, il se peut qu'une odeur se dégage; elle disparaîtra en quelques heures. Veillez à bien aérer la pièce. La température de fonctionnement est atteinte après quelques heures, mais le compartiment congélateur du réfrigérateur doit être froid environ une heure après la mise en service. 5.2.
5.2.2 Fonctionnement à l'électricité 1. Alimentation en courant 12 V (CD) ATTENTION La fonction 12V ne doit être sélectionnée que lorsque le moteur fonctionne afin d'éviter un déchargement de la batterie de bord. B A C 1. Réglez le bouton de sélection d'énergie « A » sur 12V. L'affichage de fonction « C », 12V, affiche une lumière verte. L'appareil est en fonction. 2. Réglez avec le bouton « B » la température dans le compartiment principal.
5.2.3 Fonctionnement au gaz Le réfrigérateur doit fonctionner exclusivement avec du gaz liquéfié (propane, butane ; en aucun cas gaz de ville, gaz naturel ou l'Autogaz). Si le réfrigérateur fonctionne au gaz pendant les trajets, certaines consignes de sécurité sont à respecter suivant le pays dans lequel vous vous trouvez. (Conformément à la norme européenne EN 732).
5.2.5 Réglage de la température de réfrigération B Comme mentionné, vous pouvez à l'aide du régleur (B) régler la température de réfrigération selon vos besoins. Réglage température moyenne TIP Les conditions climatiques influencent la performance de votre appareil. Pour une température extérieure comprise entre +15°C et +25°C, choisissez la température moyenne. L'appareil se trouve alors en mesure de fournir une performance optimale.
5.4 Préparation des glaçons Nous vous conseillons de préparer vos glaçons la nuit. En effet, le réfrigérateur est moins plein et le groupe frigorifique a plus de réserves. 1. Remplir le bac à glaçons avec de l'eau potable. 2. Placer le bac dans le congélateur. AVERTISSEMENT Utiliser uniquement de l'eau potable ! 5.5 Dégivrage Avec le temps, du givre se forme sur les ailettes de refroidissement. Lorsque la couche de givre atteint environ 3 mm, il faut dégivrer le réfrigérateur. 1.
5.7 Verrouillage de la porte ouvrir ATTENTION 5.8 verrouiller Il est impératif de fermer et de verrouiller la porte du réfrigérateur avant le démarrage du véhicule ! Mise hors service A arrêt de porte 1. Positionner le commutateur de 2. Bloquer la porte à l'aide de la cale. Remettre la plaque.. 5.11 Changement de la plaque de décoration 1. Ouvrir la porte et dévisser la vis de la charnière. 2. Enlever la porte en la soulevant.
5.12 Changement de la butée de porte Il n'est pas toujours possible de changer la porte quand le réfrigérateur est installé. 1. Ouvrir la porte, dévisser la vis de la charnière et la garder à portée de main. 6. Revisser la vis de la charnière. 2. Enlever la porte en la soulevant. 5. Monter la porte. 3. 5.12.1 4. Régler la charnière de porte Il peut s'avérer nécessaire d'ajuster la charnière de porte pour permettre un verrouilla ge correct de la porte.
5.13 Conseils en cas de panne Avant d'appeler le service après-vente, vérifiez si : 1. les instructions de la partie " Mise en service du réfrigérateur " ont été suivies ; 2. le réfrigérateur est de niveau ; 3. le réfrigérateur peut fonctionner avec la source d'énergie disponible. Problème : le réfrigérateur ne fonctionne pas en mode gaz. Causes possibles Marche à suivre a) La bouteille est vide. a) Changer la bouteille. b) Le dispositif d'arrêt inséré n'est pas ouvert.
5.14 Entretien Seule une personne habilitée est autoriséee à effectuer des travaux sur les 5.15 installations électriques et de gaz. Nous vous recommandons de faire effectuer ces travaux par une personne d'un service après-vente agréé. Le brûleur à gaz doit être nettoyé en cas de besoin, ou au moins une fois par an pour garder le réfrigérateur en bon état de marche. Nous conseillons de faire une inspection aprés une longue non-utilisation de véhicule.

6.1.1 Installation latérale Si l'appareil est installé d'un côté de la porte d'entrée, veiller à ce que cette dernière ne bouche pas les grilles d'aération lorsqu'elle est ouverte (Fig. 1, distance la porte les grilles d'aération min. 25 mm). Sinon cela gênerait la ventilation et diminuerait la puissance frigorifique.
6.1.3 Installation à l'arrière Le montage arrière conduit souvent à une situation d'installation défavorable, étant donné qu'une ventilation et une aération optimales ne sont pas toujours garanties (Fig. 4). La performance maximum effective de réfrigération du groupe n'est pas disponible. Une autre variante fréquente du montage arrière est l'installation latérale de grilles d'aération et de ventilation (Fig. 5).
6.2 Installation étanche à l'air Les appareils frigorifiques installés dans des caravanes, des camping-cars et d'autres véhicules doivent être étanches à l'air. Cela signifie que l'air nécessaire au brûleur pour la combustion n'est pas prélevé dans la pièce et que les gaz de combustion ne peuvent pas pénétrer directement dans la pièce. AVERTISSEMENT ! Pour l'étanchéité, n'utilisez AUCUN matériau facilement inflammable (en particulier de la masse d'étanchéité de silicone ou similaire).
Dans ce cas, ne pas mettre la protection d'hiver supérieure lors du fonctionnement au gaz ! Si, malgré l'étanchéité à l'air, vous souhaitez un conduit pour les gaz de combustion, installez dans la grille d'aération supérieure le système d'aération L100, pourvu d'un extracteur de gaz. Pour l'installation du conduit des gaz de combustion, voir la section 6.7. Les modifications ne peuvent être effectuées qu'avec l'accord du fabricant. 6.
6.4 Installation du système d'aération L 200 L 100 Pour installer les grilles d'aération, découper deux rectangles (451 mm x 156 mm) [17-3/4” x 6-3/20”] dans la paroi externe de la caravane. (position des rectangles, voir la section 6.3). Le point N° 1 est annulé pour les appareils équipés de cadres avec joint intégré. 1. Imperméabiliser le cadre d'installation. 2. Insérer le cadre ... ... et le fixer avec des vis. 3. Placer la grille d'aération. 4. Fixer la grille . 5.
6.5 Le renfoncement d'installation L'appareil doit être installé dans un renfoncement et être étanche à l'air (v.”6.2”). Les dimensions du renfoncement sont indiquées dans le tableau ci-dessous. La marche (A) sert uniquement pour les réfrigérateurs à marche. Pousser l'appareil dans le renfoncement jusqu'à ce que l'avant du réfrigérateur et l'avant du renfoncement soient alignés. Laisser impérativement un espace de 15 à 20 mm [ca. 3/4”]entre la paroi arrière du renfoncement et le groupe frigorifique.
6.7 Extraction des gaz de combustion Cette extraction doit être réalisée de telle sorte que tous les produits de combustion soient effectivement rejetés hors de la pièce. Les gaz doivent être évacués en continu vers le haut, afin d'éviter une accumulation de produits de condensation. ATTENTION 6.7.1 Une installation non-conforme entraîne une diminution de la capacité de refroidissement et le fabricant ne peut alors garantir le bon fonctionnement de l'appareil.
6.7.2 Extraction des gaz séparée (accessoire spéciale) min. 10 mm max. 20 mm Entaille : 3-3/20 po de hauteur 1-6/10 po de largeur 1. Faire une entaille de 80 x 40 mm dans la paroi externe de la caravane (I). La position de l'entaille est fonction du modèle de réfrigérateur et des conditions d'installation. 2. Fixer le raccordement en T (E) sur l'adaptateur (F) ou sur le tuyau d'échappement (K) à l'aide de la vis (G). Vérifier que le distributeur de chaleur (H) est placé dans la bonne position. 3.
Le raccordement à la conduite d'alimentation en gaz s'effectue au niveau du robinet d'arrêt manuel fourni avec un raccord d'ignition mâle SAE (UNF 5/8” - 18) de 3/8”). Toujours utiliser une clé à molettes pour raccorder le tuyau d'alimentation en gaz à l'entrée de gaz. AVERTISSEMENT Seule une personne agréée est autorisée à effectuer le branchement de gaz ! Après l'installation, effectuée dans les règles, un *professionnel agréé doit vérifier l'étanchéité et effectuer une épreuve à la flamme.
6.9 Installation électrique AVERTISSEMENT Seul un professionnel agréé est autorisé à poser l'installation électrique ! L'installation électrique doit répondre aux normes nationales. Les câbles de connexion ne doivent entrer en contact, ni avec les parties chaudes du groupe ou du brûleur, ni avec les angles saillants.
