Long Life Operation
Be careful of the following points when carrying out work
1. Avoid carrying out counter rotation turns on concretes
su
rfaces. There is danger that concrete surface will scrape
off the rubber from the shoe.
2. Avoid making sudden changes in direction. This can cause
prema
ture wear or damage to the rubber shoes and road
liners.
3. Avoid operating the steering when tra
veling over places
where there is a big difference in height, drive the machine
at right angles to the obstacle to prevent the shoes from
coming off.
4. If the machine has been raised using the bucke
t. Lower it
slowly.
5. Avoid doing work with materials that produce oil when
crushe
d(soy beans, corn, or remains of vegetables
squeezed for oil); or wash the machine after use.
6. Avoid handling materials that will attack
the adhesion of
the steel core, such as salt, ammonium sulphate,
potassium chloride, potassium sulphate, or calcium
superphosphate; or wash the machine after use.
7. The adhesion of the core will be attacked by
salt, so avoid
using the machine in coastal areas.
8. When handling salt, sugar, wheat, or soy bean, if there is
any deep cut
in the rubber shoes and road liners, these
substances may get into the lugs or cut portion of the
rubber. Always repair the rubber before use.
9. Do not carry out work that involves scraping against walls
or con
crete embankments.
10. Road liners slip extremely easily on snow o
r frozen roads.
Be careful not to slip when traveling or working on slopes.
11. The properties of road liners change when working in
extremely cold plac
es, and this will reduce the life of the
rubber shoes and road liners.
12. Because of the properties of rubber, use the road liners
within
a range of -25°C (-77°F) to +65°C (-149°F).
13. When carrying out bucket operations, be careful not to
damage
the road liners with the bucket.
