Tri Test Instruction Booklet

READ INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO USE!

The Tri Test is a professional quality high tech device for detecting counterfeit US Currency,

and other document fraud. To achieve the best results, it is important to read these

directions carefully prior to use, and keep them handy for reference.

Caution: Do not look directly into or stare at the UV lights. Prolonged exposure

can cause eye damage. Keep this unit away from children.

Important: When operating your Tri Test Detector, be sure to turn off the unit

after each use. Leaving the UV lamps on for long periods of time can weaken

performance and cause false test results.

Battery installation:

The Tri Test uses 3 “C” batteries. Rechargeable batteries are best for the environment, but

alkaline batteries work quite well. To install, locate the battery compartment in the bottom

of the unit and insert the batteries, paying special attention to the orientation of the positive

(+) and negative (-) terminals. One set of batteries should last for several months of

intermittent use. Batteries should be replaced when the lights begin to weaken.

AC Adapter:

If you’ve purchase an optional AC adapter, the port is located on the right side of the unit

next to the power toggle switch. We still recommend installing batteries, even if your

primary power source is AC.

This product can perform 3 quick tests to determine if US paper money is real or counterfeit. If you have doubts about a bill, you should use all three to help you make a determination. UV (Ultraviolet Light)Test for US Currency: IMPORTANT: This test is for US notes $5 and higher printed 1996 and after. There are no UV markings on $1 bills or older currency! Place the bill, portrait side up, on the white platter of the Tri Test.

Paper Test for US Currency: IMPORTANT: US currency is printed on special paper. This is true of all US paper money, regardless of print date, so this test is effective regardless of issue date! Remove the Counterfeit Detector Pen located in a slot on the right side of the Tri Test. The pen contains a special fluid which authenticates US currency paper. Make a small mark on the face of the bill. If the mark is light gold or yellow, the bill passes this test.

Foreign Currency: The Tri Test is excellent for testing the currencies of most countries. EURO: Small colorful fibers will glow under UV light and watermarks will appear in the blank spaces. BRITISH POUND: Small fibers will glow under UV light and watermarks will appear in blank areas. CANADIAN DOLLAR: Directly on the portrait of the Queen, the bill denomination will glow in multi-colors under UV light. Watermarks will appear in blank areas.
