DriveHard™ is a premium grade concrete and masonry weatherproofer and fortifier. The proprietary formula densifies, strengthens and makes the surface
water-repellant by penetrating into and chemically reacting with the unique chemical properties of the substrate. DriveHard’s chemical reaction creates a
bond that permanently increases the lifespan of concrete and masonry by preventing and reducing damage caused by common problems, including
extreme weather conditions (e.g. freeze-thaw cycles). The patent-pending water-based, nano-silicone/silicate based formula creates a breathable, yet
stronger and water-repellent surface that is more resistant to abrasion and water-dissolved salts (alkali). DriveHard does not create a film on the surface
that would trap moisture vapor; it does not change the texture; it leaves a natural-looking and more durable finish.

TECHNICAL DATA SHEET ISSUE DATE 22-May 2015
Surface Preparation
The surface should be cured, clean and free of contaminants, such as loose
debris, dirt, oil, curing compounds, paint and efflorescence. These foreign
substances may prevent DriveHard from penetrating and reacting with the
concrete. Generally, contaminants may be removed with the NewLook®
Concrete Degreaser™ and pressure washing. Consult your supplier for more
information about preparation.
Allow the surface to completely dry. Avoid installing DriveHard when excessive
moisture exists within or underneath the slab/substrate. Mask off and protect
areas not meant to be treated.
Application
Shake the DriveHard container vigorously or mix well. Do not dilute.
Apply DriveHard to the surface with a sprayer or brush until the surface
is saturated without puddles. Avoid contact with the surface while it is
wet. DriveHard will begin to react immediately upon contact with
substrate.
Immediately re-apply a second coat on the wet surface for maximum
benefit. Maximum strength and resistance will develop over several
days. Keep surface saturated for at least 15 minutes or until surface no
longer absorbs DriveHard.
Allow treated area to dry. Generally, this takes 1 to 2 hours or more if
excessive moisture is present. Restrict the use of floor to light traffic and
non-harsh chemicals for at least 24 hours.
A light amount of white residue may remain after DriveHard dries usually
only when the material is applied. Clean such residue with pressure
washing.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning with NewLook® Concrete Cleaner™ is recommended.
Lightly scrub the area with a window washing brush or mop. Rinse
thoroughly with clean water and allow the area to dry.
Re-apply additional DriveHard to areas that allow for water-
absorption as needed.
Coverage and Storage
Store in a safe, dry place.
Unused portions of DriveHard can be stored for future use.
Always keep container tightly sealed.
DO NOT allow product to freeze.
Shelf life is approximately 24 months.
Covers approximately 125 - 200 square feet per gallon (11 - 19
square meters per liter). Coverage rate will vary with concrete
texture, porosity, finish and (concrete and ambient) temperature.
Limitation
Always perform a test on an inconspicuous area to determine
suitability.
DriveHard is a preventative maintenance solution that is used
BEFORE damage occurs. DriveHard will not repair existing
cracks, spalling damage, scaling damage, patches, or prevent
any foreign material from soiling the substrate.
Product should be applied when the temperatures are rising
above 50°F or falling below 90°F.
Keep the surface dry during the reaction period for maximum
benefit.
Due to low viscosity, use extra care when applying to vertical
surfaces.
Water-beading will vary based on surface characteristics. Low
water-
beading surfaces often still repel water from entering
deeply into the surface. For maximum protection, spot check
areas for water penetration and reapply as necessary.
Storage
Store in a safe, dry place.
Keep containers tightly sealed.
Store in original container in areas inaccessible to children and
pets.
Do not reuse empty container. Rinse empty container and
replace cap before discarding.
