5.6 Antenna Alignment
For antenna installation, follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer; instructions should
be packaged with the antenna.
• RSSI voltage measurement via the BNC connector on the ODU, used for fine alignment,
• When the ODU BNC weatherproof cap is removed, the ODU will emit an audible “chirping” to
aid antenna alignment. The rate of “chirps” is proportional to the RSSI voltage and therefore the receive
signal level.
The tools required to fine-align the antennas:
• Appropriate tool to adjust the azimuth and elevation mechanism securings
• Voltmeter
• Cable connected ODU monitoring point (BNC) and Voltmeter.
