7. Aim the DTS-CSP Subtitle Projector (with screen masking removed).
a. From the XD10 MAIN menu, press the button and scroll to SETUP. Press the button.
b. Press the button and scroll to CSP SETUP. Press the button.
c. Once in the CSP SETUP, press the button and scroll to TEST PATTERNS.
d. Once in TEST PATTERNS, use the button and scroll to Full Screen. Press ENTER
button.
e. Verify the test grid pattern is centered on the screen. It should encompass the entire screen
area. If horizontal adjustment is necessary, continue to step f. If vertical adjustment is
necessary, do step g. Otherwise, skip to step h.
f. Horizontal Offset is adjusted by physically moving the projector in its mount. The pattern
shown for vertical offset (next step) is useful for setting the horizontal position. The center
vertical line of the pattern should be located on the center of the screen.
g. To adjust Vertical Offset, from the CSP SETUP menu, select Vert. Offset. Use and to
adjust while observing the test pattern projected on the screen. When satisfied, press ENTER
button.
h. Now, go back into TEST PATTERNS and this time choose View Area. Press ENTER
button.
i. You have two choices: Horizontal View Area -or- Vertical View Area. Choose the one that
matches the subtitle format used by the theater.
j. Verify the white box test pattern covers the intended “subtitle area” shown below.
The DTS-CSP subtitle projector must be installed upside down, as shown below.
