MXR42 INSTALLATION Preparation Please read entire manual before installation. Before You Start • Disconnect negative battery terminal. Consult a qualified technician for instructions. • Avoid installing the unit where it would be subject to high temperatures, such as from direct sunlight, or where it would be subject to dust, dirt or excessive vibration. Getting Started • Insert the supplied keys into the slots as shown, and slide the unit out of the mounting sleeve.

Using an incorrect fuse could damage the radio. The MXR42 uses one 5 amp AGC fuse located in-line. * Caution - Do not attach any speaker leads to ground as severe damage will occur.

MXR42 OPERATION General Operation Power On/Off Press to turn the unit on. Press and hold than two seconds to turn the unit off. for more Source Press SOURCE to select between AM/FM, auxiliary input, USB or SD Card modes. Modes of operation are indicated in the display. SD and USB modes will not appear unless an SD Card or USB device is connected. Loud Press and hold LOUD for more than 2 seconds to activate and deactivate the loudness feature.
MXR42 OPERATION Tuner Operation Seek Tuning Manual Tuning Band Storing and Recalling Station Presets Automatically Store Stations nn ll for more than 2 seconds to nn ll Press TUNE or TUNE seek the next strong station. Press TUNE or TUNE momentarily to change one radio station at a time. Press and hold to advance quickly. Press BAND to select between FM1, FM2, FM3 and AM1, AM2 bands. Six presets can be saved in each band. Up to 18 FM stations and 12 AM stations can be stored.
MXR42 OPERATION USB/SD Card Operation Connecting a USB Device (sold separately) Inserting an SD Card (sold separately) Playing Music Track Select Play MP3/WMA files from many mass storage devices by connecting them to the MXR42's USB port. To play MP3/WMA files from an SD card, insert an SD card into the MXR42's SD card slot with the label facing left. It will click into place when properly inserted. To remove the card, press in until it clicks, then pull to remove.
MXR42 OPERATION USB/SD Card Operation Media Compatibility The following types of files are compatible: • MP3 data • WMA data The following types of files are not compatible: • WMA files that are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management). • WMA lossless format • MP3 PRO format • MP3 playlists • WAV format Playback Order Playback Capacity MP3/WMA playback sequence is based on order the files are copied to the USB/SD card device and begins in the root folder.
