Articles, such as batteries, are exempt from GHS SDS classification criteria. The GHS criteria is not designed or intended to be used to classify the physical, health and environmental hazards of an article. Branded consumer batteries are defined as electro‐technical devices.

These standards specify tests and requirements for lithum primary cells and batteries to ensure safe operation under normal use and reasonably foreseeable misuse. The test regimes assess three conditions of safety.

If you assemble these batteries into larger battery packs, it is recommended that you perform the UN Tests to ensure the requirements are met prior to shipment.
