INDOOR UNIT INSTALLATION STEP 1: SELECT INSTALLATION LOCATION Before installing the indoor unit, you must choose an appropriate location. The following standards must be met for an appropriate location for the unit: • • • • • • Good air circulation Convenient drainage Noise from the unit will not disturb other people Firm and solid - the location will not vibrate Strong enough to support the weight of the unit A location at least three feet (one meter) from all other electrical devices (e.g.
Refer to the following diagrams to ensure proper distance from walls and ceiling: Ceiling >39” (1m) >39” (1m) H A Panel B (Ceiling hole) Ceiling board >8’3” (2.
STEP 2: HANG INDOOR UNIT 1. Use the included paper template to cut a square hole in the ceiling, leaving at least 39" from the walls on all sides. The ceiling opening size should be slightly larger than the main body size (see diagram below). Be sure to mark the areas where the ceiling holes will be drilled for the suspension bolts.
5. Mount the indoor unit. Using two people to lift and secure it, insert the suspension bolts into the unit's hanging bracket holes and secure in place with washers and nuts. Make sure the unit is level and the bottom of the unit is higher than the ceiling board to accommodate the unit's panel (15/16" for DRAC09F1A, DRAC12F1A, and DRAC18F1A models or 3/8-3/4" for DRAC24F1A). Ceiling Main body 3/8-3/4” (10 - 19mm) or 15/16” (24mm) Ceiling board WARNING Ensure that the indoor unit is completely level.
STEP 4: CONNECT DRAIN PIPE The drain pipe is used to drain condensate water away from the unit. Improper installation may cause leaks and unit or property damage. 1. Connect the drain pipe (field supplied) to the unit's connecting port using a metal worm clamp. Make sure it secured tightly and can not be easily pulled loose. 2. Insulate the connecting port and pipe with the accessory sheath (sleeve) provided.
5. If connecting multiple drain pipes, install the pipes as illustrated below. ≤20” (≤508mm) ≥4” (≥101mm) 6. Pass the drain pipe through the wall hole to the outside. The end of the pipe should be at least 2" (50mm) above the ground. If it touches the ground, the pipe may become blocked. Make sure the water drains to a safe location where it will not cause water damage or a slipping hazard. STEP 5: CONNECT SIGNAL CABLE BEFORE PERFORMING ANY ELECTRICAL WORK, READ THESE REGULATIONS 1.
The signal cable enables communication between the indoor and outdoor units. You must first choose the right cable size before preparing it for connection. USE THE RIGHT CABLE • Outdoor Power Cable: H07RN-F • Signal Cable: H07RN-F CABLE SIZING Use a minimum of 16 AWG for power and signal cables connected to and between the indoor and outdoor units. Choose the correct size of cable The size of the outdoor power cable, signal cable, fuse, and switch needed is determined by the maximum current of the unit.

If pre-existing refrigerant piping is already embedded in the wall, proceed directly to Step 8: Install Panel. 2.
NOTE DO NOT intertwine the signal cable with any of the other wires while bundling these items together. 2. Using adhesive vinyl tape, attach the drain pipe to the underside of the refrigerant pipes. 3. Using insulation tape, wrap the signal wire, refrigerant pipes, and drain pipe tightly together. Double-check that all items are bundled. NOTE When wrapping the bundle, keep the ends of the piping unwrapped.
3. After installing the main panel body, ensure that there is no space between the unit and panel. Any gaps may allow air to leak through and cause condensation leaks. 4. Mount the inner panel by ensuring that the tabs at the back of the panel are aligned with the grooves in the main body and seated properly. 5. Remove the control box lid and connect the two cables from the main panel body to the main board on the unit. 5-core wire 10-core wire 6.
For Model DRAC24F1A 1. Remove the inner panel. • Push both of the release tabs towards the middle simultaneously to unlock the latch on the panel. • Hold the panel at a 45oangle, lift it up slightly, and detach it from the main panel body. 2. Remove the installation covers at each of the four corners by sliding them outwards. 3. Install the main panel body by aligning the panel with the unit, taking into account the position of the refrigerant piping and drain sides.
4. Connect the two louver control cables to their corresponding sockets in the control box. Control box Connect the louver motor Connect the louver motor 5. Remove the foam stops from inside the fan. 6. Attach and hang the inner panel from the panel main body. 7. Connect the display cable to the corresponding cable on the unit. 8. Close the inner panel. 9. Fasten the installation covers at all four corners by sliding them inwards. 10. Ensure that there is no space between the unit and panel.
TROUBLESHOOTING SAFETY PRECAUTIONS If ANY of the following conditions occurs, turn off your unit immediately! • The power cord is damaged or abnormally warm • You smell a burning odor • The unit emits loud or abnormal sounds • A power fuse blows or the circuit breaker frequently trips • Water or other objects fall into or out of the unit DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX THESE YOURSELF!
